Biography

"Damn. I'm glad you guys didn't turn down. Did you see that what that guy was doing?! Holy christ he was taking his pants off!" -Colin Me (from Chopper/Deerhunter, said at our first show)
Loud, sinister crowd gripping rock is the best way to describe Hawks. The members of Hawks have all been a big part of the Atlanta underground scene since it's rebirth over 15 years ago by both playing and booking bands at venues like The Driver Dome (RIP), I-Defy House (RIP), 485 Robinson (RIP), Under The Couch, 141 Moreland, Drunken Unicorn, Lenny's, I Can Fly House and The Eyedrum. The members of Hawks have played in over 6 bands over the years, in over 40 states and 7 countries, most notably: Electrosleep International, Blame Game, Brickmason, and wheeljack. In their day these bands set a standard in the Atl scene for crazy live shows, blood soaked audiences, an unrelenting savage music style and deep devotion to fun. Which is really what hardcore is suppose to be about anyway. It's within this climate that Hawks strives to exist and breed. As one of the few post punk noise bands in Atlanta we been compared and influenced by the likes of Jesus Lizard, Lovelife, UOA, Pissed Jeans, Clouds, Lords, The Vss, Cherubs, NoMeansNo, and all our still functioning brother bands in Atlanta/United States such as: SIDS, Bernard, Chrissakes, The Sunglasses, Fag Static, Thy Mighty Contract, Lay Down Mains, Battlecat, Deerhunter, Chopper, Suitcases, New Brutalism, Thank God and Judy Chicago. We play anywhere people will listen, but especially where people will loosen their collars.
