Hurricane Hawk & the Invaders was formed in 1995 by Hawk Levy. He was looking to carry on the traditions of the jump and swing bands without losing the “true blues” roots, and adding original catchy lyrics. They continued to grow rapidly in popularity, quoting a very respected Scrips Howard critic Bill DeYoung "The lynchpin here is Hawk Levy, who sings and plays a mean blues harp. He's one of the Treasure Coast's most talented (and consistently employed) blues musicians." In 1997 Hawk produced the highly acclaimed live CD “Emotional Invasion” They now find themselves steadily booked and playing their original flavor of the blues appealing to audiences of all ages. This year in january they made their mark in Memphis at the prestigous International Blue Challenge and was one the top 30 bands in the event
