Dafusia (formerly "Hawri 'n' Mandy")

    Dafusia (formerly known as Hawri 'n' Mandy) is an Electronic Vocal Dubstep duo based out of Toronto, Canada. Their music will “Take Your Mind”, with their driving Dubstep and soulful vintage vocals. Their melodic mainstream, yet underground electro-dubstep fusion carries elements of euro beats, RnB, pop, funk, world, hip-hop, & more. National/International Award Winning Singer/Songwriter, Mandy Ebel’s scintillating vocal melodies, over Producer-Hawri’s insane funky synth & deserving drops are nothing but REFRESHING to music classed in any genre! Dafusia's face melting bass always keep the vibrations running up and down every inch of your body, while they flaunt fractions of haunting trip-hop, acid-jazz, prog-rock and more. Dafusia emerged onto the bass music scene- racking up a number of solid reputable recordings they produce themselves through their production house, MassivArt Muzik Productions. Hawri’s diverse beat mania, flighty synth performances, compositions & productions, in alliance with Mandy Ebel’s iry, feverish vocals & cultured lyrics, always seem to entrance listeners while getting down on the dance floor for Dafusia's massive bass waves & epic beat fusion. Though Dafusia’s core sound is a dubstep delivery, they tastefully never release the predictable and refuse to completely give in to one genres boundaries.
 
    Dafusia’s music genesis began in the small, cultured, free lovin’, experimental, artistitc hippy town of Nelson, BC, Canada, at Selkirk College (Berkelee Music College transfer). Hawri (Srihari Sridhar) & Mandy Ebel met there while enrolled at the Contemporary Music & Technology program. Mandy, (originally from Alberta) always had a fetish for world music and had a desire to find the perfect mesh fused with the hottest elements of Euro-electronic music, Western prog-rock, soulful RnB, ambient sounds & samples. Naturally she was attracted to Hawri’s (native of Chennai, Indian) clear keyboard talent, Eastern & Western influence and passion for producing. The two began collaborating regularly, shaping and shifting their sound along the way, to form what is now Dafusia.

Recently, Dafusia has spent the bulk of their time, this past year, in their studio pumpin’ out firey recordings & productions. Dafusia, have had a couple releases on iTunes & Beatport (released under the artist name "Hawri ‘n’ Mandy"). Including their Debut self-released 2010 EP, "Yuga One", available on iTunes, Trackitdown, Junodownloads and more. This Ep was a Electronic/Indie/Hiphop/Rock/RnB/Fusion EP exploring an array of genres with flamboyant vocals & a sundry of beats. Next in 2011, was their first release on Beatport with "Astro-psyche" (released under the artist name "Hawri ‘n’ Mandy") (Dubstep/Fusion), by Onion Records Compilation Album- "What's next? v.1". Dafusia has also released a handful of Vocal-Edit’s & Remix’s available for free download on their social network sites. As well as Dafusia also has Upcoming 2012 Releases scheduled with Play Records & Wonked Records. More recently, Dafusia will be releasing their Vocal-Edit Remix of Adventure Club's hit - "Do I See Colour," to be released on Adventure Club's upcoming EP.
 
    Dafusia have also been regularly performing their Live Electronic set. They’ve performed for Toronto’s Bassmentality Night, UK Underground-Virgin Mobile MOD Club, WONKED Records Nights, Futura & Electropolis events. Dafusia have performed alongside Matt the Alien, Hydee, Marcus Visionary, DJMrk, Krinjah, Sidenote, Going Quantum & more. Mandy Ebel has also performed with former 2004 Canadian Idol, Kalan Porter, while Hawri has performed with Worldclass Indian Percussionist-  Sivamani, alongside AKON. Hawri has Composed/Produced/Performed for numerous emerging Canadian Pop/ HipHop/ Dance /World Electronic Artists, including Anonymous, Mike Dara, Sivamani, Erica Dee, Kashoo, Nina K, & more. He has also worked with collaborators of the 2009 Academy Award Winner, A.R. Rahman (who composed
