Bio

Raised in Mozambique and in the United Kingdom, recording artist HC never
accepted boundaries in the music he loves and creates. This is why he chose
to study and live in Cape Town, South Africa. The dynamic diversity of the city
as well as the open and free sense of expression of Cape Town has always
inspired him to make music that can be enjoyed by everyone.

It was this creative freedom combined with his skill as a rapper that earned
him an invitation by South African power pop sensation Jax Panik to feature
and collaborate on the lead single “Get Up” off Jax’s second album entitled “I
Am Jax Panik”. The album would go on to win a South African Music Award
(SAMA) in 2011 and at the time “Get Up” was playlisted in high rotation by
every major radio station in South Africa, reaching the #3 spot on the National
Top40 on 5FM – today “Get Up” has reached more than 25 000 views on
YouTube.

Following the success of “Get Up” HC was invited to tour with Jax Panik,
which saw HC help headline the Synergy Music festival (November 2010),
and The Sonic Summer national tour alongside acts such as Die Antwoord
and Locnville (December 2010). HC and Jax Panik toured with international
superstar Sean Kingston for a series of Johannesburg shows in February
2011 at Emperor’s Palace. He was also part of the Jax Panik live team that
joined David Guetta and Akon during their Cintron Africa tour in October 2011.
Jax Panik and HC were nationally renowned for their high-energy live
performances, often being booked by two or three nightclubs in one evening.
HC’s love of performance attributed greatly to the on stage dynamic of Jax
Panik.

In 2013 HC began the production of his latest solo work (his previous mixtape
“Before the Madness” had been nominated for an MTN Hype Award). His
mission for the album is to bring together sounds and voices that are as
varied as his own music taste for everyone to enjoy. He has developed
beyond just being an incredible live performer; he has proven himself to be a
wonderful songwriter and producer in his own right.

Being released in September 2014, “Rooftops” (featuring Lakota Silva of
Locnville “Closer” fame) is the first single from HC’s solo album, which is
scheduled to launch in 2015.
