Bio

HGNC, also known as Head Gangstas n Charge/ Hardest Group n Chicago, is a group of young talented musical artists who all happen to be natives of Chicago, IL. The core members of the group united in 2006 through bonds forged while attending Northern Illinois University (NIU). Upon affiliation, the group began immediately expanding in numbers and becoming a movement that would spread throughout the campus of NIU. The group gained popularity at NIU by dominating musical contests, performing outstanding exhibitions, and providing several closely followed mixtapes and album quality music. The hard work, effort, and focus of HGNC was not solely based in the DeKalb area surrounding NIU. HGNC also spread knowledge of their talents and expanded upon their notoriety throughout the entire state of Illinois with a stronghold on the greater Chicago-land area. Evidence of these successes lie in their successful showings at popular venues/events including but not limited to House of Blues, Victor Hotel, Subterranean, Adrianna’s, and several educational institutes throughout the state including both Northern AND Southern Illinois universities. The group has been able to maintain relevance, growth, and artistic development despite residing in some of the most dangerous and impoverished regions of Chicago. The core members of HGNC include, but are not limited to, FreakyTy, Cut Eastwood, Zay, Suge G, Bub, Big B, and Ray Bandz. HGNC will be releasing several volumes of highly anticipated mixtapes by the end of 2011 starting with “Hardest Group N Chicago”. These releases will simultaneously coincide with live performances and the filming of video footage. Be on the lookout for much more from ‘HGNC the movement’ including clothing, short films, documentaries, parties, and other amazing soon-to-be-named items.
