Bio

Headrush, quite simply put, is a rock band. A rock band choked to the point of strangulation with melodies. This Sacramento, California based band brings grit and an edge to its sonic explosion. When they take the stage the energy is high and the songs hit you like a collective musical hammer. They scream at you one minute, and leave you trying to catch your breath the next.

The trio is led by former Splender frontman Waymon Boone, whose debut, Half Way Down The Sky rendered three hit singles for Columbia Records. Joining Boone is the intense, hard-hitting drummer, Mike Johnston, and smooth, intricate bassist Allison Johnson.

With guitars that cut like glass then blanket you while you lick your own wounds. A drum that might kick you and a bass that might push you then give you a moment to almost apologize to them for it.

“The music is real and it is intense,” says Boone. ‘Lyrically I just don't think I could be anymore truthful or paint a more wildly colorful picture even if I tried about how I feel about my place in the world. I feel like we've captured time and lightning in a bottle and we're just ready to shake and unleash it.’

The band's full-length album, "Weight of the Water" was recorded, engineered and produced by Boone. The album mixed by world-renouned mixer, Mike Shipley, who has worked with artists like Green Day, Aerosmith and Maroon 5.

"I had previously worked with Mike when I was in Splender and to get the chance to work with him again was a dream come true," says Boone.
