"First Listen: HEADS 'HEADS' |"

“A brutally raw record, occupying the slither of space between knife-edge tension and collapsing despair.” - Rolling Stone

"'A MURAL IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS' VON HEADS. |"

"Heads. aus Berlin gehören offenbar zur ersten Gruppe, so heißt ihr neues Video wohl nicht umsonst „A Mural Is Worth A Thousand Words“. Während sich die sägenden Slugde Rock-Riffs an deinem Gehirn abarbeiten, starrst du gebannt auf diesen halbnackten Typen, der inmitten der Dunkelheit steht und sich durch den Song kämpft. Unabhängig davon, ob du nun findest, dass das scheiße aussieht oder die Farbgebung zu schätzen weißt, kannst du nicht anders, als gebannt auf den Bildschirm zu starren. Musikvideos sind nämlich eine ganz andere Sache." - Noisey

"Review: Heads., 'Heads.' |"

"a half-hour of absolutely dead-on perfect noise rock… diehard followers of this niche should really lose their minds over HEADS., 'cause this shit is top-shelf material.” - No Echo

"Review: Heads. – Heads. |"

"Imagine a sound. Imagine an abstract vortex of narcissism and melancholia. Imagine a droning lament that’s somehow actually welcome and not painfully overbearing. This sound is Heads. and it hails from deepest, darkest Berlin." - The Monolith

"Premiere: HEADS.’s debut album |"

“this debut is rock’n’roll to the fuckin’ bone. An amazing display of a feature often forgotten: it’s freakin’ visceral. It spits in our face, without even thinking about apologising, and in the end just thrills and excites. Welcome to the lovely filthy world of HEADS.” - Music & Riots Magazine

"Heads – Self-Titled LP Review |"

“This self-titled LP is a stunning example of what the underground can achieve and it is a must have for anyone who worships at the altar of disaffected noise-mongers. It’s hard to imagine another band who sound like this” - Sonic Abuse

"HEADS. – S/T |"

"This off-kilter Drive Like Jehu scribble of indignant noise-punk is harrowing and bleak in its twisted and revolted drone and is absolutely thunderous to boot.. You need HEADS. This Australian-German three-piece are a bitter, discordant snarl that may just surprise you along the way." - Keep It Fast

"Music Montag: HEADS. release their self-titled debut |"

"HEADS. reaches deep into an abyss of post-hardcore and noise rock influences, and excavates something else entirely: dense, driving, stripped back, and utterly unique." - Überlin

"INTRODUCING: HEADS. |"

"The full stop next to HEADS. name is so freakin’ on point. Listening to this band is a no-nonsense pummelling, where bullshit has been replaced with snarling riffs and looming malevolence. If you thought that perhaps the Jesus Lizard could’ve done with a little more angry focus, then this is band for you. If you’ve been struggling to find a band to practice kickboxing to, then this is the band for you. If you just like really heavy bands, then this is the band for you." - Who The Hell

"Track by Track: HEADS. |"

"Berlin-based Melburnian frontman of HEADS. ED FRASER guides us through each track contained on his band's debut LP." - Mess + Noise

"PREMIERE: Noise rock trio HEADS. spit bile on “Chewing on Kittens” |"

"The usual suspects ring through on this positively ugly cut from HEADS. forthcoming EP — The Jesus Lizard, Shellac et al. — there’s not much better than a band with a sound that combines the best parts of their predecessors. Genre tropes be damned; no one’s obliged to reinvent the wheel, and when your music sounds this good, you can get away with a lot. Who thought noise rock could be this catchy?" - Life Is Noise

"AUSSIE PREMIERE OF HEADS. – ‘A MURAL IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS’ |"

"Travelling through a glitchy four minute mindfuck, the video for ‘A Mural Is Worth A Thousand Words’ stars the band’s frontman Ed Fraser." - Tonedeaf

"Video Premiere: Heads. – “A Mural Is Worth A Thousand Words” |"

"We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Heads.‘s new music video for the track “A Mural Is Worth A Thousand Words.” The song is taken from the band’s self-titled EP, out now through This Charming Man Records and Heart of the Rat Records." - New Noise Magazine

"HEADS Self Titled Album Review. |"

"they can read each other’s thoughts note after note and know via their respected geniuses when a song should end. This is not a record that will draw you in at one listen, it may not after ten, but it will leave a thought in your mind every time that you are not finished with it yet. That enthralling manoeuvre is near mastermind." - Desert Highways

"Memorial Monday To Check Your Melon |"

"And who better to offer a deeper perspective on monitoring/making/melting melons than sludgy Melbourne/Berlin trio HEADS (featuring a member from our German overlords in The Ocean), whose killer self-titled debut (out now on Heart of the Rat Records) was recorded in the Swiss Alps." - Metalsucks.net

"Interview: Heads. |"

"I had a chat with Ed Fraser, lead singer and founding member of the band, about his origins, influences, and plans for the future, just weeks ahead of the band’s European tour with METZ." - Life Is Noise

"HEADS. - HEADS. |"

"There are riffs everywhere! The picture in the atmosphere is that of a lethargic haze. HEADS. then descends into madness. Your sound system will be dripping in no time." - The Music

"Heads: Heads |"

"it’s the perfect mixture of evocative song-writing and emotional intensity. If you’re into heavy music, or any of the artists I’ve mentioned, you will adore this album. Heads have created a stunning debut that should not be missed." - 4ZZZ

"New Punk: Red Red Krovvy + GROTTO + Heads. + Pairs |"

"In much the same way that Narrow Lands and Yes, I’m Leaving have throttled our being with insulting good punk music slowed down to a sluggish and gut-empytingly good bludgeon, Heads. are here to belittle our senses. They’ve come forth with this track “A Mural Is Worth A Thousand Words”, which is the equivalent of having one’s head crushed by Godzilla’s foot." - Soundly Sounds

"New Noise: Deep Space Supergroop, Hot Palms, Jukai Forest, Heads. | Mess + Noise"

"the lead single ‘A Mural Is Worth a Thousand Words’ certainly grabs – and proceeds to throttle – our ears. It’s thunderous yet stripped-back, complete with a perfectly dramatic pause in the middle. Hardy, hard-bitten stuff done right." - Mess + Noise

"Music Montag: HEADS. |"

"a low-slung mélange of “Nick Cave ‘off heroin’, Shellac and My Disco” with shades of The Jesus Lizard and Quicksand.. we’re expecting monumental things." - Überlin

"LISTEN: HEADS. – “A MURAL IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS” |"

"truly satisfying with groovy rhythms, heavy bass and guitars along with grainy, rough vocals. They stand out among the crowded number of musicians producing within the borders of the same genre" - Arctic Drones

Bio

Sludgy noise 3-piece HEADS. formed in Berlin 2014 of two native Germans and one wandering Australian, and collectively are like-minded individuals drawing inspiration from the same filthy pools. As a trio, HEADS. have a straight-up, no-frills approach and a mantra of intensity through repetition. This is a band for those who like their music noisy and consistently abrasive.

In 2015 HEADS. released their debut self-titled LP on This Charming Man Records in Europe and Heart of the Rat Records in Australia. The record was tracked live in the Swiss Alps by Jona Nido (COILGUNS/THE OCEAN) before being mixed + mastered by Magnus Lindberg (CULT OF LUNA) in Stockholm. HEADS. self-titled LP received a large amount of raving press worldwide, and following their debut release HEADS. played some intense live shows in Europe with bands like NOTHING (USA), METZ (CAN), USA NAILS (UK), PURLING HISS (USA), and FJØRT (DE).
