Biography

Headshadow is an Alternative Rock group from Chicago, IL. Their debut "Los Atlantis" is a refreshing return to form for modern music, containing tightly crafted songs with similarities to bands like The Raconteurs, Nada Surf, and early Weezer.

Recorded by Headshadow and mixed by Rob Beaton (Guns N' Roses, Van Morrison), "Los Atlantis" carries an explosive, ample sound that exceeds expectations for any D.I.Y. three-piece. Lead vocalist/guitarist Chris Kayes contributes a charged performance that combines edge with soul, while bassist Thomas Hillard and drummer Adam Bowling propel each song with a driving, dynamic beat. Lifelong musicians with wayward beginnings—Kayes from the east coast, Hillard from the west coast, and Bowling from the south—these mid-west transplants found their sonic focal point in "the windy city."

By definition, a head shadow is an acoustical dampening that occurs when sound is blocked by one’s own skull. Fittingly enough, this Headshadow responds in unison with a sound capable of rising out from under the cloud of modern mainstream radio.
