Headspin

Headspin

BandRock

We're five guys who love to make music that people love. From rousing rockers to head-bobbing, melodic tunes, we want to make sure that the audience loves our music as much as we do.

Biography

Rarely is a band able to craft songs that are fresh and passionate, yet classic and memorable. Too often, music sacrifices melody for musicianship. One listen to Headspin can restore the faith of the rock generation. Hailing from Boston, Headspin takes pride in creating a sound that is accessible while keeping true to the spirit of rock and roll, trends be damned.

Headspin started in January 2002 when vocalist Chuck Walsh (ex Offramp) joined guitarist John Burke (ex Sidewalk Punk)and bassist Sparky (ex Red Baron). Recently joined by new guitarist Chris Core (coming to us by way of Florida) and drummer Mike Camann (ex Red Baron). The match proved to be an immediate success, as the band’s first collaborative effort, the driving crowd favorite “Rehab” can attest. From there, the band has turned out song after song of classic sound, from the pop sensibilities of “Over Again” and “One More Time” to the darker tones of “Drone”. Headspin continues to be fueled by the spirit and sound of groups such as The Beatles and Stone Temple Pilots, writing music that comes naturally, regardless of the whims and trends that currently exist.

Headspin is quickly becoming a force on the local Boston scene, recently earning a ranking in the Top 3 Boston Bands of 2002 list on Barstar.com. This is a testament to the appeal of a group that focuses on energetic live performance and honest songwriting. Headspin is looking forward to continuing playing anywhere and everywhere they can, and invites all to take a listen!

Lyrics

Rehab

Written By: Chuck Walsh

(Verse)
Total infatuation
Can’t stop the saturation
You’re a drug I can’t kick
I’d stop, but I would get sick
Why can’t I negate you
I only can perpetuate you
I’m out of control, but so what
I need what only you’ve got

(Chorus)
I can’t deny your grip
Every time I see you around
Of your love I will take a sip
I can’t get enough of it

Running around
Can’t avoid your sound
You’re in my veins and
I can’t stop

(Verse)
My friends try to make me
But they never shake me
From the spell I’m under
The way you look, hell, it’s no wonder
Why I keep coming for more
I dread what else you have in store
How can I fight the addiction
To your malicious friction

(Repeat chorus)

(Bridge)
And you know, like a fly
That’s caught in a web
I’ve nowhere to turn
When you rear your head
I’m a helpless little shit

I don’t care if you lie
When you say to me
I’m the only one
That you want to see

God help me ‘cuz I can’t stop.

(Verse)
My friends try to make me
But I won't let them shake me
From the spell I’m under
The way you look, hell, it’s no wonder
Why I keep begging for more
I need what else you have in store
I don't wanna fight the addiction
To your malicious friction

(Repeat chorus)

Look The Other Way

Written By: Chuck Walsh

(Verse)
I want to tell you
What really happened
The other night
I did a lot of things
I’m not really sure why
I won’t forget it

(Pre-Chorus)
I don’t know what came over me
This was so out of character
I never thought I’d ever be
So criminal

(Chorus)
If you don’t want to see me
I will understand
I would say the same
Just listen to my story
You can see how I’ve changed
Though you may not believe me
I take all the blame

(Verse)
I fell a victim to
A bad influence
And it ruled me

(Pre-Chorus)
It was so empowering
The way it felt in my mind
To see him with you poisoned me
It made me crazy

(Chorus)
But if they come asking
You know what to say
Even though you may not want to
I need some time to get away
Need time to think it through
Just a little piece of time
Then I’ll decide what I need to do

(Bridge)
You know what I ask of you
I know what you must think of me
Can’t you just do this favor for me
After all, I did this for you

Oh God what has happened to me
I don’t understand
Everything I did was for you
Don’t think I did this to hurt you
I just want you back

Can’t you understand?
All you have to do is lie for me
Then we can be one again
I know you want that as well
Just look the other way
So I can go away
But I’ll come back for you
I will.

Over Again

Written By: Chuck Walsh

(Verse)
I’m tired of always losing out
Over and over again
I play by your rules never mine
Over and over again

(Chorus)
It’s time for me to live again
All I wanted was
To make everyone happy
It never worked that way
I shouldn’t do for you
What I can do for myself

(Verse)
Whoever I want don’t want me
Over and over again
That’s the story of my life
Over and over again

(Chorus)
It’s time for me to live again
All I wanted was
To make everyone happy
It never worked that way
I shouldn’t do for you
What I can do for myself

(Bridge)
You don’t have time for me
But I always have time for you
All they want from you is sex
But you don’t want to believe that is true
No one loves you more than I
No one’s hurt me more than you

(Chorus)
It’s time for me to live again
All I wanted was
To make everyone happy
It never worked that way
I shouldn’t do for you
What I can do for myself

Confessing

Written By: Chuck Walsh

(Verse)
Singing for no apparent reason
Hoping for my favorite season
Sitting around while you run
Basking in the evening sun
Jumping the gun to be impatient
Cleansing my soul to be efficient
Being a pain in my ass
Showing that you have no class

(Chorus)
It burns to be this way
God knows what else there is to say

(Verse)
Clinging to words that you’re spelling out
Starting rumors that I’m selling out
Stabbing a knife in my back
Proving that you’re a maniac
Stooping to levels I’ll never see
Doing things you hope I never see
Knowing how you operate
Ensuring that you have sealed your fate

(Chorus)
It burns to be this way
God knows what else there is to say
It’s your shame
I am to blame

(Bridge)
Didn’t you know what goes around, must come around again

You sold me out
Put a knife in my back
You know I couldn't believe it when
She said, "Leave me alone."

(Chorusx2)
It burns to be this way
God knows what else there is to say
It’s your shame
I am to blame
