Bio

Headstart began in 2003, rising from the ashes of 2 local Maine bands who had recently disbanded. After cutting 3 demos with local producer Jonathan Wyman, the reaction to the songs was more than enough to get the band back into the studio to complete a full length album.
That full length, self-titled "Headstart!" held the singles "Do This," - on local station WCCY's top 5 for over 2 months - and "Bitches and Bastards," - staying on WCYY's top 5 for 6 weeks. The band was able to share the stage with prominent local bands like Paranoid Social Club and others while also getting the chance to play alongside national acts like Fat Joe, Eve6, Story of the Year, DMC, Morningwood, and others along the way.
Since then, they've cut 2 other full length albums and 3 EP's. Singles like "Boy Who Died In Stereo," "Me vs Me," and others continue to get them spins on WCYY, WBLM, and WCLZ in Maine. Their video for "Sincerely Yours" can be found on YouTube
with over 10,000 plays.
Drawing from modern influences such as Weezer, Green Day, Third Eye Blind, 311 and more they also pull from the past - The Clash, The Cars, The Beatles (I know, who doesn't), Beastie Boys, and others. Headstart is also heavily influenced by the rich local music Portland has, not having to look far to find a friend and fellow local artist providing inspiration.
Most recently, they've released the new EP "B," once again produced by Jonathan Wyman (Sparks The Rescue, Spose, etc). As "B" is released they're already gearing up for a 2011 release - with over 50 songs demo'd to choose from.
With over 70 songs recorded and released, digital and physical sales approaching 10,000 for their catalog, and countless shows under their belt, Headstart continue on.
