"Heartcore blend funk and soul in multi-faceted musical offerings"

A case study for innovation and renewal, Heartcore’s intensive schedule is chock full of rehearsal, writing time, recording, and live performance ⎯ concentrating on nothing but creating and presenting new music.

Offering a taste of their in-depth musical styling, HYPERLINK "http://www.myspace.com/weloveheartcore" www.myspace.com/weloveheartcore serves up the brilliant Do What U Want To as a tease for what is to come⎯four distinct and original musicians working together to capture the elements of a live show that moves and inspires, a repertoire that leaves revelers reluctant to give up spots staked on the dance floor.

Moving through a myriad of musical forms including the powerful and intense Moneysworth, the soulful and sincere Broken Fire, culminating in the explosive and enticing Little Things, Heartcore ensure the musician is at the heart of the equation.

Lead vocalist Aaron Lycett has a distinct, melodic voice⎯powerful yet fluid. His softly sung lyrics are equally as engaging—a strong, observant writer full of feeling, able to reflect and offer insight on the human condition. This singer/songwriter is set to multi-faceted musicians with a broad stylistic range—Joel Waznicky, guitar and background vocals, helps embroider the heavy groove oriented collective while drummer Ian Macchuisi and bassist Justin Phillips stitch together something soulful.

Formed in the summer of 2007 at a log cabin retreat-style rehearsal space, the Toronto-based Heartcore evolve with every live show and jam session, each member bringing their own sets of strengths and expectations, all the while open to each others art, forming a community of creativity and growth.

Although influenced primarily by one another, Heartcore lists Jimi Hendrix, Mos Def, Shakti, Tool, Sade, Jeff Buckley, Led Zeppelin, Mute Math, D'angelo, Billie Holiday, Stephan Bodzin, and Jamiroquai as inspirations.

"Deadmau5 digs our song."

So we are super stoked to share with you that Deadmau5 has chosen So Close as a favourite on Soundcloud. It has received 550 plays within just 1 day. The deal: He is looking to help artists through his label Mau5trap and asked people to send him tracks. So we sent him So Close. He liked it and favourited it. He posts all his favourites from them on his Soundcloud page. This Friday he'll choose who he is going to help.

We are third on the list. It is an honour to have been picked. Hopefully we get a chance to work with him and his label!

Love. Heartcore. - HeartCore
