How did the band get its name?
The band’s name is Heart Of The Fox, aka H.O.T. Fox. This phrase struck Michael as having the potential to uniquely represent our band’s burning passion and hometown spirit.

Who are the members and what instruments does each play?
Michael Heidemann, 24, guitar, vocals
Rachel Woodall, 20, vocals, ukulele

How did the band get started?
We met and almost immediately discovered a mutual love for music and the arts. We have been writing and playing music together since.

Describe the music you play.
Energetic and heartfelt acoustic rock

What makes your act different?
We bring a sense of electricity to the stage and we make sure everyone in the audience feels included in the show. We make strong connections with the audience before, during and after our shows.

Who are your three biggest influences?
Our families, because they give us a sense of humor and the passion to play music.
Jesus, who gives us talent and a reason to play.
Fellow local musicians, who stick together and spread the love of music.

Every open mic we have been to over the past few months, we thrive off of the spirit of the people we meet and the music we hear there.




Why should people come see you (in 50 words or less)?
When we put on a show, a fun energy flows through the crowd. We love to entertain and make people’s faces light up while their ears tingle with sweet sounds. We encourage foot-tapping, hand-clapping and the occasional tambourine dance off.

What is the best thing about being a musician?
For us, the best part about playing music is spreading our sound through crowds of people and watching a room ignite with a universal passion for music.
