Hearts & Thieves

Hearts & Thieves

BandRock

Melodic hard rock at its core, this Connecticut quartet's music is a genre-blending mix of 70's-influenced prog-rock colored with shades of 80's metal, a healthy dose of 90's alternative sensibilities, and contemporary punk/ hardcore passion.

Biography

Hearts & Thieves rock. It’s what they do.

Hailing from central Connecticut, this four piece hard rock band effortlessly blends the melodic sensibility of yesteryear with the high-octane energy and crushing power of the contemporary music scene. Key changes, harmonized guitars, time signatures that challenge the standard 4/4, solos worth a damn (not just the vocal melody played on a guitar) and lyrics that are more than cliche rhyming couplets posing as the profound- that is what Hearts & Thieves is all about.

Formed in the spring of 2009, Hearts & Thieves have been on an unstoppable fast-track to the top: reigning victorious through Battle of the Band contests left and right, gaining airplay on the infamous Hartford hard rock station 106.9 WCCC (once home to Howard Stern), and sharing the stage with huge national acts such as Lit, Buckcherry, Saving Abel, and Filter.

Their incredibly impressive do-it-yourself work ethic, fierce determination and focus have brought them before crowds of thousands- all without having been signed to any type of label. Touring from New York City through northern New England, the band’s live show has always spoken for itself and their fan-following increases with every performance.

Anyone who has seen them play can attest to one simple fact:

Hearts & Thieves rock.

My Serpentine

Written By: S. Scott

Well I’ve been talkin’ to the Man Upstairs sayin’
Oh Mister, cut me a break
I’ve been trying hard to do what you want
But I can’t get rid of this snake
He’s sly piece of work, yeah
He slithers so convincingly
A serpentine seducer
Oh Lord, deliver me from

Oh my, my Serpentine
I know he’s pushin’ poison
I know he’s a liar
Oh my, my Serpentine

The snake, he whispers and I try not to hear
Try not to do what he says
Oh, Mister won’t you come back down here
Oh won’t you clean up this mess

Oh my, my Serpentine
I know he’s pushin’ poison
I know he’s a liar

Midnight Woman

Written By: S. Scott

If you need her, she’ll be waiting up with the lights on
Counting out the hours until the morning sun

She can’t sleep ‘cause she’s thinkin’ too hard: troubled thoughts in her head…
Wondering if worrying will bring you back safe and sound

She’s a Midnight Woman
Gotta treat her right...
She’s a real fine mother (mother)
Better treat her right (that’s right)

She can’t sleep so she pours the kettle, let fire seep into her skin
She paces round and round, and round and round again
She regrets the way they parted: things they said; their actions…
She prays, “Lord, just give me more chance to make things right…”

She can’t sleep ‘cause she’s thinkin’ too hard: troubled thoughts in her head…
Wondering if worrying will bring you back safe and sound
She regrets the way they parted: things they said; their actions…
She prays, “Lord, just give me more chance to make it right…”

Shakedown

Written By: S. Scott

I keep my affection in my wallet
Because I want it safe
But you come feeling through my pockets
And I’m in trouble again
I try to hide away my feelings
‘cause I know you’re a little thief
But you come swiveling your hips
And I’m such a sucker for this...

Girl!
What can I say?

You shake me up
(every time) You come around
It’s a shakedown (that's no lie)
You shake me up, shake me down
Giving this heart the run-around
It’s a shakedown (that's no lie)
Yeah, shakedown

I need to keep all my affection
Down deep, where you can’t reach
But you come red lips and sweet distraction
Oh now you got a hold on me
I can’t run ‘cause I’m paralyzed
And you love when I’m feeling weak
You come with your hungry eyes
I’m just another piece of meat

dog.

Written By: S. Scott

I’ve got a dog in my brain
And he don’t heel on command
Lord, I swear I’ve tried everything
still he don’t understand
He’s gotta get it gotta have it
Anyway he can
He don’t hear no reason
‘Cause he ain’t no man

oh, oooh...
I’ve been waiting
For that touch
I’ve been praying
For a little love
I’ve been waiting -such a dog
I’m so disgusted by this lust

I’ve got a dog in my brain
He won’t take no control
he don’t feel no shame, Lord
makes him oh-so-bold
He’s gotta get it gotta have it
And he don’t share
he’ll bite the hand that feeds, yeah
‘cause he don’t care

The Chainsaw Revival

Written By: S. Scott

Well I guess you better pray, boy
‘since you’re already on your knees
Weight of the world’s got you so down
Rock bottom’s now your ceiling
So ditch your pride
Oh, child
It can’t buy what you need
You still haven’t found what you’re looking for
‘Cause you’re not ready to receive

Caught up in yourself
Chainsaw Revival’s got your number, yeah
Cut open your cold hard closed heart
Yeah, Chainsaw Revival’s gonna open it open it up

Mama said you gotta pray, boy
Every night and every day
She said, “Pain is God’s megaphone, baby.
He’s saying: ‘Change your ways.’”
So testify
Ooh, child
Faith comes to those who kneel
But you gotta cop to the disease
Or you won’t ever be healed
