Biography

[DISCLAIMER: No Animals were hurt in the creation of Hearts Apart]
Sonia and Lindsey met in the North Pole while wrestling Polar Bears for candy canes. Neither of them could combat the stinky wet bears on their own but together they beat them all and soon were rolling in a lot of peppermint candy. While gorging on the delectable treats in a high class igloo the two of them made a pact – ‘when we get back home, we will meet up and start a band’ – and they did. Founded during the summer of 2005 in the GTA, a much warmer climate than the North Pole, Hearts Apart is Sonia and Lindsey - two energetic and very strong girls (Come on, they wrestled polar bears). They love to play live and on very special nights they will share stories about how they took the half ton bears by surprise. Because everyone today seems to tell tall tales, Hearts Apart believes that music may be the only form of communication one can trust. They believe in honest, compelling and emotional music with meaningful lyrics. Hearts Apart don’t mind breaking sweat to pursue their dreams and putting polar bears down for the count is only the beginning.

Holding the Line

Written By: Hearts Apart

Still holding the line
Maybe now you'll truly get me
That I'll wait here all night
And breathe you in if you’d just let me

But you’re not listening
Am I alive?
Should I die?
It’s not worth waiting for you this time
And I’m out of dirty water
I’ll leave you there to ponder my demise

Talk like people do
When they know that words mean nothing
Let’s dig up our truth
Buried back when we were something

Day after day
How you control the weather
Maybe today is the day that I’ll know better.

Fire

Written By: Hearts Apart

Sinking into my chair
Hoping that it breaks
A crack on the head
Might be all it takes
To wake wake wake up
The time passes slow
And some is never enough
I need to reach out

I need to grab it
In my hands I'll have it
To have to hold
To measure myself

You may look in my eyes
And never see fire
I'll shoot up tonight
And never get higher
A second of air
Of breath I need
It's fine by me

So your face has rot
And your tongue is tied
I remember your hope
Remember how hard you tried?
What is it all worth
It's all gonna end
If you're not happy
Why pretend?

I need to grab it
In my hands I'll have it
To have to hold
To measure myself

You may look in my eyes
And never see fire
I'll shoot up tonight
And never get higher
A second of air
Of breath I need
It's fine by me.

25 to Life

Written By: Hearts Apart

9 to 5, 25 to life
A nicer cell and a pleasant wife
We all know it’s a damn good show
No one’s happy that’s the way it goes

This weight on our shoulders
Don’t let us move at all
Our faces get older
Why do we feel so small

Another day we can cross out tonight
Isn’t it safe here in bedroom light?
Stay indoors locked up to ourselves
Can’t trust anyone, trust me this is hell

This weight on our shoulders
Don’t let us move at all
Our faces get older
Why do we feel so small

9 to 5, 25 to life
9 to 5, 25 to life.
