Bio

Heart to Heart is an exciting mixed A Cappella quartet made up of two married couples who formed in 2003 as a Contemporary Christian group but since have expanded their repertoire to include not only Contemporary Christian arrangements but also Vocal Jazz and Barbershop. Their sound has been compared to that of Manhattan Transfer and New York Voices.

Tenor, Brad Charles, and Bass, Kirk Hyder, have been friends since high school when they sang in their first Barbershop quartet together. They competed in two other Barbershop quartets (Four Star Event and Center of Attention) collecting multiple District medals. Kirk met wife Barb (Alto) while performing on a Sweet Adeline show together in 1984 and they married in 1986. Brad met Nancy (Soprano) through a mutual Barbershop friend and they married in 2001. Barb and Nancy met while singing in the Sweet Adeline Regional medalist quartet, Surefire.

Brad directs the Crosstown Harmony Sweet Adeline chorus as well as the Milwaukee Festival City men's chorus. He sang in a District Quartet Champion and International Semi-Finalist quartet (Checkmate) and was a charter member of the International Finalist Chorus the Midwest Vocal Express (MVE) from Greendale, Wisconsin. Brad served on the MVE's Music Team for many years before moving on to direct Crosstown Harmony. He also serves as choir director for Plymouth Congregational Church in Racine, Wisconsin.

Nancy has competed with two internationally competing Sweet Adeline Quartets (Cahoots and Surefire) and is currently the lead in her new quartet called Premiere. She recorded a Christian fund raising CD for Lutheran Living Services called "He's Always Been Faithful." Nancy serves as the soprano soloist at Plymouth Congregational Church with Brad and she is a member of Crosstown Harmony Chorus.

Barb has competed in many quartets, two of which competed internationally (All That Jazz and Surefire). She previously worked as music director for Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hartford, Wisconsin and served as Assistant Director for Crosstown Harmony chorus. She’s served in numerous leadership roles within both Sweet Adeline choruses and the Sweet Adeline Region 22 including Education Coordinator and Region Team Coordinator.

Kirk previously sang with the Midwest Vocal Express and has held many leadership roles with MVE including President of the chapter and VP of Music. Kirk's accolades include winning a District Quartet Championship and top 20 finish at International with his quartet Jackpot! and has acquired three 5th place International Finalist medals with MVE. He previously served as worship leader at Northbrook Church in Richfield, Wisconsin.

Barb and Kirk recently relocated to Naples, Florida from Wisconsin where Barb is a member of Spirit of the Gulf Sweet Adeline chorus in Fort Myers. She is a board member for the Collier County Council on Aging and Social Director for the Parkinson Association of Southwest Florida Inc. Both Kirk and Barb are active members of Living Waters Community Church in Bonita Springs, FL.

In August of 2006, Heart to Heart competed at the Buckeye Invitational contest for mixed quartets held in Columbus, Ohio where they won first place honors. They produced their debut CD, "Lucky Day" in 2005 and Christmas CD entitled “Christmas Time Is Here” in 2007.

Heart to Heart uses a portion of the funds they earn to contribute to the Patti Monroe Cancer Research Foundation and to sponsor Susana Ramirez Severiano who resides in an orphanage in Puebla, Mexico led by Living Hope International. The quartet thanks you for your support of these endeavors.
