“Rising singer/songwriter Heather Evans is no stranger to OurStage. After she joined OurStage in 2008 at the age of 21, her soulful and strong voice was recognized immediately by fans on OurStage. She fought for quite a while though, before she took a Top 10 spot in February’s Indie Rock rankings. An avid singer who’s mature sound carries her experiences well, Heather recorded her first full album when she was just fifteen. That album, “Impatient Heart” has since sold many thousands of copies.
Incorporating her humble and honest nature, Heather often sings of her strong personal faith. “Battle Scars”, which finished 2nd in Indie Rock in February on OurStage, carries a particular message of staying true to yourself.

Hailing from central Ohio, Heather doesn’t just sing about her own origins and ordeals. She is also active in charities and benefits to help end human trafficking and sex trafficking in Asia and Africa. I have covered Heather Evans before in the blog. She finished #2 in Indie Rock in March, and has been on OurStage for almost a whole year.

Heather Evans, a one woman benefit tour.
Humility, maturity... these are not qualities normally attributed to 22-year-old singer/songwriters of Heather Evans' caliber.
One doesn't spend much time with Evans before they are struck by not only how centered she is, but also by her immense faith. Her music doesn't shy from life's issues, however. Her lyrics are full of searching and yearning.
Evans released an album called "Impatient Heart" which got quite the buzz, while still a high school kid named Heather Waugh. Her songs landed in 2 episodes of MTV's Laguna Beach and 2 songs on Nickelodeon's teen show South of Nowhere. Since then, she's entered young adulthood and gotten married, changing her name to Heather Evans.
When Evans plays live, more often than not, she's raising money for others. We've kidded her that it's ok to make a bit of money for herself. She's not against the idea, but then there's always someone who needs her help. That's just Heather.
Her latest record, "For My Generation" is out now and on sites like Itunes and Cdbaby.com.
