Heather Gin

Heather Gin Was born in a small town in Oregon to south Korean parents. She grew up around her father and grandmother who came from Korea in order to help with the family. She has one of seven siblings who all played instruments so music came to her naturally. As a child going into her teens Heather excelled at everything that was presented to her from academics to sports. Having come from a traditional first generation Korean family the expectations were high and obtaining them was imperative. She started to hone her musically abilities in church as a praise leader. She was starting to find her voice but it would take time for her to really take advantage of it. It wouldn't be until she attended University of Washington when she really began seeing her full potential. This is when she began working with Seattle producer Vitamin D. During this time she toyed with the idea of doing her own music but didn't make it a reality until one late night in the studio working on a record for a local artist. She went into the vocal booth and from that moment a star was born. She began learning more about everything behind the boards which has made a formidable engineer and producer in her own right. She started working with her studio partners at Soundcheck music creating a introductory Ep titled HG. They began marketing the ep and it slowly started picking up steam on the internet. The ep fell into the hands of The Source's magazine rep Omar Amin. He contacted her via email to ask exactly what her goals were. This prompted a telephone conference with then Defjam junior ar Ryan Davis. They talked a few times and then began working together while he shopped her to Defjam,Cherrytree and Interscope respectively. During this time Heather was contacted by Alan Stibbe of Knockeen hills London to be brand ambassador for their new liquor Heather Gin. Things seemed to be moving along nicely. Then Ryan left Defjam leaving them in a independent space again. It left things in limbo for Heather who had been working so hard and right on the brink. Patience prevailed as she went on to become the first lady of Davis's The Debonaire Group imprint. They began working on her first single from the imprint with labelmate Dj Aq. The wonderful result was the single "Tonight" which is being released threw The Debonaire group/Ingrooves/Universal Music Group. She is currently working on her debut album with her producers. She is rumored to be working Roc Nation hitmaker Jahlil Beats on her upcoming album as well. What dreams are made of.
