"Ian Crombie, Executive Director/Editor of The West Coast Songwriters Association"

"What a class act. Great vocals and performance. Songwriters should be sending her material, hoping they'll get their song on her next record!"

- Ian Crombie

"Bonnie Hayes- Songwriter (Bonnie Raitt), Producer, and Artist comments during studio session"

"You popped that mic a good one. If your voice were a fist that mic would be on the floor." - Bonnie Hayes

"Hollywood Safari Sam's - Bob Leggett"

Material: She's a little bit R&B, and a bit of blues and power-pop; but most of all, she's not boring. Heather Lauren shines in all genres that have a rock edge, sort of like Janis Joplin meets Mariah Carey. She is adept at arranging rock classics into modern jazz, and especially shines on her version of the Stones, "Miss You." Additionally, she's an impressive songwriter. "How can you say," a modern standard and "Sense of Me," a poignant story of self-discovery, are worthy of attention.

Musicianship: Lauren is comfortable at the keyboard, but her skills are displayed best through her voice. Regardless of whether the song is an original or a new version of a classic, Lauren's vocals soar and are full of passion.

Performance: Lauren quickly showed her skills with a stirring cover of Stevie Wonder's "Signed Sealed Delivered," which she inflected with her own style. She was truly at ease and had fun onstage, displaying good chemistry with Ferguson and the audience. She easily brought the crowd into her reality, as they sang along to the classics and grooved to her originals. Throughout this diversely rich mixture of originals and covers, Lauren revealed multiple talents in songwriting, arrangements and interpretation.

Summary: A diva in the making, Heather Lauren is a versatile performer. Her knack for rearranging and reinventing classic songs is refreshing, and her originals show great potential. This artist bears watching, and is a wonderful addition to the LA music scene. - Music Connection 11/2007 Vol. XXXI. No. 23

Bio

"Heather's voice has the delicacy of an angel, the power of a soul diva, the swing of a jazzer and the playfulness of a popstress." - Panos Panay, Founder, Sonicbids

Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, Heather was raised in Dallas, Texas by her New York City native mother and Ohio native father. Heather left her Southern roots to head west toward California in the summer of 2000, after a year long post-graduation European backpacking adventure.

Heather worked for a San Francisco based Advertising firm during the Dot-com boom and fall. At which time, she chose to leave her cushy salary, cubicle, and 401K, to roll the sparkling dice toward her teenage dream of becoming a legendary singer, songwriter and performer. Since then, she has never looked back.

Heather performed consistently in the San Francisco Bay Area over the last five years with special appearances in New York, Los Angeles, Washington DC, Austin, TX and Milan, Italy. A San Francisco Bay Area transplant, Heather is actively performing in Los Angeles, her new home.

*Performance Highlights*

Heather was awarded "2006 Song of The Year" for the West Coast Songwriter's International Song Competition. Her original composition entitled "Sense of Me", won first place and was produced and co-written with legendary songwriter Bonnie Hayes (Bonnie Raitt) and cellist and songwriter, Matthew Schoening.

In the summer of 2006, Heather had the incredible opportunity of opening up for Fiona Apple at The Concord Pavilion in Concord, California, and for Tori Amos in the fall 2005.

Heather has co-written, recorded and been produced by Bonnie Hayes (Bonnie Raitt) and Narada Michael Walden (Jeff Beck, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston). She has opened for The Salvador Santana Band, Ledisi, Maria Muldaur, Dan Hicks and Jorge Santana. Heather has also performed at the legendary South By Southwest Music Festival in Austin, TX and for The San Francisco International Film Festival.

Heather had the extreme privilege of performing one of her original songs, "Live on Through Me", for the New York Fire Department at Ground Zero in New York on September 11, 2004.

For two years, Heather performed with the World-Renowned, San Francisco Glide Ensemble Gospel Choir, home to Cecil William's Glide Church.

Heather holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications with an emphasis in Business and Spanish from The University of Texas at Austin.
