"HEALING MUSIC"

By Mike Hazelwood
Staff Writer

Heather Layne stands on stage and sings about hurting, healing and everything in between...Layne sings songs she's written about using Christian faith to battle emotional and physical pain.

A sample of the lyrics: "Sometimes I think I'm used up, there's nothing worth saving...You love to take my mistakes...turn my night into day."

"Lyrics like that can aid recovery," says Pastor Rob Flammang, who battled a heroin addiction and is now an associate pastor. [Flammang] says that any time someone shares feelings that another pained person shares, whether through song or discussion, it helps fill loneliness.

"It's like having your mail read," Flammang says.

Discography

Heather and Dennis recorded their 4th and 5th albums in the Fall of 2006, with their producer, Johnny Mulhair, who lives in Clovis, NM.

Heather is currently working on a women's devotional which will accompany one of the CD's she just recorded. This package reveals her deepest and darkest secrets and wounds. Her prayer is that God would minister to women abroad through this devotional and CD which addresses sensitive women's issues.

Bio

Heather Layne and her husband, Dennis, are the Co-founders of Heather Layne Ministries, Inc. Heather is a licensed minister. They are the current worship leaders at Dinuba First Baptist for the Sunday morning "Restoration" service. They home-school their children and live in Dinuba, California.

Heather Layne Ministries, Inc. is a non-profit, Christ-centered organization founded in 2001. Heather and Dennis regularly visit the Visalia Rescue Mission, ministering through music at chapel services. Their ministry sponsors each woman as she graduates the Rescue Mission Family Center program with gift cards for clothing and essentials. Their vision for 2007 is to increase this giving and continue to support these courageous women who are diligently striving to improve their lives through Jesus Christ.

Heather and Dennis are grateful to be ministering through music the first Friday of every month at the Bob Wiley Detention Facility for women in Visalia, CA. God has opened this door for them and they anticipate many broken and hungry hearts as they begin this ministry in the Spring of 2007.

Creating and sharing "Restoration" music is their mission and purpose. Heather and Dennis take their music abroad not only to rescue missions and prisons, but also churches, fairs, coffee houses, and 12-step recovery programs.
