Heather Waxman has effortlessly planted a seed of musical finesse within the indie scene. With her enticing nature and raw talent, she captivates the audience with her melodic spell.
Heather has always held a passion for music and writing, and she thrives on connecting with people. "Everything fuels me to write," she says. Heather tells ethereal stories of love and personal growth as she spills her soul upon her keys. "I have a fascination with how people interact and how nature affects it," she says.
With inspirations rooting in alternative and folk music, she has been capturing the curiosity of local listeners. Hints of Coldplay and Keane linger in the air, with faint nods to indie queens like Feist and A Fine Frenzy.
"The first two things that struck me about Heather Waxman were her amazingly strong voice and seasoned stage presence," says Dan Cloutier, founder of Birch Beer Records. "Heather writes with the beautiful human depth that all song-writers aspire to. She is a rare case of a young performer that is able to do all parts of the craft well."
This year, Motif Magazine honored Heather with Best New Acoustic Act for 2010. Her vitality is showcased by her will to continuously share her music with local cafes and open mic scenes. As her momentum develops in strength, she never hesitates to give back to her listeners.
Heather has participated with New Hope, an organization for battered women, is a four-time veteran performer at the Boston Catholic Television Telethon, and has played the Relay For Life of Foxboro as well as Greater Attleboro since she was 15.
On the brink of 21-years-old, Heather continues to blossom, singing the National Anthem for the Boston Celtics and the Pawtucket Red Sox, as well as performing her first headlining show in July to a packed house. With her strong sense of independence, this siren will infuse a sense of beauty and candor into your soul and keep you coming back for more. A true artist with a fresh outlook on music, Heather Waxman is a force to be reckoned with.
