Bio
Its no surprise that Heatwave, aka The Fresh Prince of the City, is the next big thing coming out of Van City. The at-times lethargic hip-hop scene on Canadas west coast anticipates Heatwaves every move as he promises to represent his country in making an epic impact on the hip-hop industry.
Discovered by Rascalz pioneer Red1 at a sold-out Juelz Santana show in 2006, momentum has continued to build as Heatwave crafts an identity in both the underground and commercial scenes. Signed to Killawatt Records with CEO Red1 as his primary mentor, Heatwave is blessed with the support he needs to nourish his emerging talents.
HeatWave has performed alongside Akon, Rihanna, Damien & Stephen Marley (Haiti Music Festival), K-OS, The Game, Elephant Man, Sean Paul, Lupe Fiasco, Chamillionaire, Lloyd Banks, Devin the Dude, Fat Joe, Slum Village, Sean Kingston, Paul Wall, Mike Jones and DL Incognito, proving that he possesses the swagger and flow to hold his own with some of the hottest and most influential artists in the game.
Heatwaves newest and hottest mix-tape project yet, The Masses: Volume 1 hosted by DJ Kemo, is taking hip-hop fans by storm. Each track on the talented rappers mix-tape is musically unique but they all capture the essence and flavour of the West Coast at its finest. With an array of lyrical topics, moods and tempos, Heatwave shakes things up as he ascends to the upper echelons of the game.
B.L.O.C.K.S.T.A.R.S. (Black Leaders Overcoming Criticism with the Knowledge to Succeed Through All Restrictions) is a continental West Coast movement consisting of over 300 members throughout Vancouver, Seattle, and Los Angeles who use their talents to get involved in everything from music to charity. Heatwave describes his affiliation with the group by saying, Im Heatwave through and through but I rep S.t.a.r.s. everywhere I go. Its just as much a part of me as this rap stuff.
Heatwave is a force to be reckoned with, and a star to follow.
