"A Return to our Roots For D-Day"

The Roots followed an opening performance by Big Heed an Atlanta -based rapper whose gangster infused lyrics and deep pulsating bass uprooted the south and dumped it right in Grainville police who made their presence known.
Whether the girls were shaking thier stuff or the guys were obediently bobbing their heads, Bigheed and his entourage of rappers warmed up the patient crowd for the headliner by yelling "get crunk!!"--no matter how crunk it already was!!! - Dennison University November 15 ,2005

"[goodestuffentertainment] Goode News 12-09-2008"

Next up was the group Heed. Now The Foreign Exchange on a whole
brings out a certain kind of crowd. They bring out underground
backpack hip hoppers, and neo soul heads, cats in sweater vests,
ties, jeans and blazers (like myself), women in underground boutique
fashions, clever graphic tees, with Andy caps covering cowry shell
filled braids or dreads. All of these folks probably feel like
connoisseurs of fine music and part of the hip hop, soul and R&B
music elite. That being said when Big Heed, made up of rapper Frank
Castle and drummer ALIen, took the stage with Frank sporting a fro
that would have made Angela Davis jealous, black dickies, black tee
and plugged in his gun shaped microphone I could feel a
collective `Hell Naw' and pulling away from the stage moving through
the crowd. Frank however, as confident as a man with a fist full of
pesos in the red light district, when asked by Dres "So what you
about to do Heed?" smiled as wide as the Chattahoochee and said "Oh
we about to show them something they ain't never seen!" Then Heed
launched into their set and proceeded to show that room something
they had never seen before. Frank is a very good MC, he's got a good
voice, he's got a bit of humor to his verses and they are very well
constructed verses, but the drummer Ali Warren know as ALIen
completely redefined what the drum is and what one man can do with
it, it was AMAZING to see. ALIen showed that entire room something
they had never seen or even knew could be done. Then a trombone
player came out into the crowd and it was like Mardi Gras had taken
over Sugar Hill it was Banana's I expected to see beads and bare
breasts at any moment. ALIen stood up on the kick drum and played,
then whirled in a circle like a dervish and played, he turned his
back to the drum kit and played, he kept the beat while removing his
shirt and played, he removed the snare and ran through the crowd
playing! it was just the most amazing and energetic thing I've seen
in forever. It was a great balance though, Frank had his energy
which was a crunk but subdued energy and ALIen's energy was just
bouncing off the walls and it all came together in the form of some
excellent music. By the time they ended their set the room was theirs
they most def made fans of a ton of non-believers. Attached are a
couple of videos to watch to get a feel for the group AND for how
bananas the drummer is: - Tiffany Goode

"Rolling Out in Atlanta 5 things to Love about Foriegn Exchange"

Heed is wildly dope (emphasis on the wild). He has a big fro, a microphone shaped like a gun and a drummer, Alien, who is obviously bound for stardom. Mix them all together and you have a group that’s clearly one show away from being the next over-exposed group in hip-hop.

Bio

‘HEED’

FRANK CASTLE (THE RAPPER) born in an era where the music landscape was being manicured into a new generational genre, Frank Castle emerged into the world to forever change the face of Hip Hop. His charismatic whit combined with the street intelligence of a street poet creates a unique blend that is real and unforgettable. He does not come to the scene as a newbie. He has worked with countless artists and producers that include Cee-Lo from the legendary group Goodie Mob and most recently Gnarls Barkley. When listening to him one can hear his musical influences radiate from his hard hitting tracks and skillfully mastered lyrics. When asked what is his driving force behind his music and lyrics? the afro clad artist replies, "Waking up every morning and being hungry is what drives me. I can't imagine my life without my music!" The passion and drive Frank Castle embodies everyday is the living testament to his genius and destined success in this Hip Hop game. Not only has he worked with many big producers aforementioned but he has also opened for The Roots when they were doing college campus tours. Being a connoisseur of old classic cars, he has shown his love by performing at many of the Nopi Nationals Car Show events.

ALIEN (THE DRUMMER) came to this world on accident, from a toilet on a spaceship near the far nebular!! He came to touch the world with the blessing of sound!!! To understand his ways are impossible. Few have come close to encountering the Alien!! His mother and father Aliens are unknown (No trace of any members of the Alien nation). He was found by two very interesting individuals in the heart of Jackson, Mississippi. Soul found the Alien and became his mentor. Alien who now derives in Decatur, Ga. can be heard through the hard kick drum beat and the rattling snare through many forms of music Rock, Jazz, and most importantly Hip-Hop.
