Helicopter Goes KABOOM! was a social experiment founded on 08/08/08 by Michael McManus and everyone's friendly neighborhood BDEE.

Both lead musicians have been respected songwriters since they started playing music. Brian Donaldson, Baldwin's Infamous BDEE picked up a guitar in 2001 and has not stopped writing, recording and producing music since. With literally hundreds of albums of material under his belt, he has been making a name for himself as a local Long Island Legend; is a seasoned and respected veteran of Long Island's ailing music scene.

Michael McManus has made a name for himself in his hometown of Massepequa banging on drums at masses while a youth at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church. Growing up, he has been an active participant in the sport of Rock and Roll. He has recorded and performed with many notable local artists and musicians including Vision Through Sound, Exemption, Lotus, Thomas Moran, and was once a member of BDEE's backing band "the venomous oranges".

In 2004, McManus formed the group FASTIZIO, who had also swiftly made a name for itself in its local community. The group had played at various Towns' Chamber of Commerce festivals throughout Southern LI, many overlooking Long Island Rail Road Babylon Line. They self-released their only album "The Under-Aged Blood Crusade" in 2007. The band toured the USA to Chicago and back in 2007 and 2008, and the NYC boroughs of Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens in 2009---- all starting at the tender ages of 17 [circa 2007].

HGK! Recorded their first album "Heaven's a Hailstorm" throughout 2009 and was released digitally by Dinosaurs in Vietnam in January 2010.

The band is about to come out with their second full-length effort, entitled "Vegas in the Basement". The lead single "Diners and Beds" was released on May 31, 2012 via the Dinosaurs in Vietnam BandCamp Page.

The band hopes to make a splash in the Tri-State region in hopes for the betterment of Long Island's future for generations to follow.
