Bio

Our band goes where other bands don't dare to go. Unique in our artistic level, primarily due to the great musical talent of guitArtist Rene Burkard, we play a challenging list of great rock & blues rock masterpieces.
Having played in Germany with guitar legends Luther Allison and ?, Rene Burkard was cited by German musical magazines to be "one of the best blues-rock guitar players in Germany". Milwaukee fans agree. Guitar lovers said that he is "amazing", that they "haven't heard anything like it" in the area. UWM guitar students literally were literally cow-towing at a recent gig. Shorewood's realty queen Suzanne P. called us "Milwaukee's Underground". "No one plays what you play."
Rene met Renee K. in Germany, and a band was born. Milwaukee native Renee K. lived and performed in Germany during the 90's before returning to the US with now husband Rene. So it's "Rene & Renee", R & R, Rock & Roll.
Hooking up with New York City native Giorgio Darrow and Madison native Andy Brienen completed the group. Giorgio grew up hanging out and playing with former members of The Band and other great talents. Andy dares to make his own bass guitars.
The chemistry was set for a group that loves the driving, challenging groove-rock songs that others won't dare to do. Who plays Arc Angels (Steve Ray Vaughn's former band's masterpiece album of Texan blues rock). Who else covers Joe Bonamassa, rising guitar star referred to by Guitar Player to be the "greatest new talent" and who filled Turner Hall on March 8th? Who else braves some top-shelf rock classics like Led Zeppelin's "What Is and Would Never Be" or Jethro Tull's "The Teacher"? And no one has even heard of the Dutch rock group Herman Brood and his Wild Romance, let alone bring their fast-driving, tension loaded originals like "Sucker" and "Checkin' Out" to US audiences?
While Rene Burkard would cite Hendrix, Clapton, and Eric Johnson as many influences, Renee K. has looked to Tina Tuner. "Not really for her music as much as her style-- she truly gives a performance, and that's what it's got to be".
