"Hells Bells, Dunsborough WA June 15th 2007"

This WA born and bred AC/DC tribute band has only been together 18 months, but on stage they come across like a seasoned Acca Dacca tribute act. The five piece started playing AC/DC songs as a bit of fun while their original bands wereen't doing a lot, but soon realise how awesome it was. The massive crowd at Dunsborough Hotel tonight proved a couple of things; firstly, word must've spread far and wide about the prowess of this group and secondly, AC/DC wrote the best and most enduring pub rock songs ever, bar none.
Opening slmost predictably with the eerie bell toll and single guitar of Hells Bells, the fivsome may have stepped the song pace up slightly on stage but the sonic elements were spot on. Frontman Bomber Thompson possesses a spine tingling likeness to Brian Johnson which, lets face it, is most folks' idea of the AC Dc Sound, while the strings were all blood, sweat and beers. The band has a reputation for playing long sets and I must admit to wondering how this cover band would captivate an entire room for two hours plus, but holy shit. Not only did they perform above and beyond the call of duty but the ever-growing crowd raised the energy bar as the hits rolled out one after the other.
The AC/DC back catalogue is a thing of beauty. 'Rock n Roll Ain't Noise Pollution', 'Sin City', 'What Do You Do For Money Honey', 'Shoot To Thrill','Dirty Deeds','It's A Long Way To The Top','High Voltage','For Those About To Rock','Shee's Got The Jack' plus (encore) tracks 'TNT' and 'Black In Black', even a DJ playingall these tracks through the house PA would've got the house moving, let alone a note perfect, verbatim high energy salute band. The Rip-in hat goes off to the band this was top shelf, all night.

Bio

Hell’s Bells has often been described by AC/DC die -hard fans as the best AC/DC tribute band in Australia, even in the world by some international audience members.

Renowned for their electrifying powerhouse live shows, Hell’s Bells prefer to label themselves as a salute band rather than a tribute act, due to their focus on playing the songs with utmost respect to AC/DC without worrying about copy cat stage antics, something Hell’s Bells fans appreciate.

The band consists of 5 seasoned musos mates, all of whom have been hand picked from some of Perth's top original acts to form Hell's Bells, originaly for just a "bit of fun". These musos are all amazing players and include one of this town’s best rock lead guitarists, Todd Brindley and one of the country’s best front men Bomber Thompson in front of a rock solid rythym section consisting of Mal “0zzy” Osborne on rythmn gtr, Paul “eckers” Eckermann on bass and Glenn “warbs” Warber on drums.

Bomber Thompson who sings the Brian Johnson versions of AC/DC’s classic songs such as, TNT & High Voltage as well as newer songs such as Thunderstruck, Stiff upper lip & Flick of the switch, has a reputation for captivating his crowd and being able to entertain a multi-generational legion of AC/DC fans with his stage banter and larger than life persona.

No one gets left out at a Hell’s Bells’ concert. Seas of smiling faces singing along with their hands raised in the air in salute can be seen in the hundreds of crowd photos posted on www.hellsbellssalute.net

The fact that members of Hell’s Bells have clocked up more than 100 years of colective playing experience between them as well as coming from the same school of rock as AC/DC, only adds authenticity to the show. Bass guitarist, Eckers, even used to jam with Bon and Angus.

The band nearly always plays to capacity crowds, and is constantly being asked to do return shows due to popular demand…. such is their growing live reputation.

Having already played more than 60 shows over the last 30 months in WA alone, Hells Bells is set to conquer the Eastern States later this year.

Whether it’s to a crowd of 100 or 5,000, Hells Bells give it their professional best leaving the audience with a real pub concert experience.

Past and Recent shows include: Bon Scott's 60 Birthday Bash at Metro Freo, RevHeads Hotrod Show, Perth Motorbike Show, The Aussie Rock Bon Scott Celebration CD launch at Metro City and a community concert for the City of Cockburn attracting over 5000 AC/DC fans of all ages.

So it’s no surprise that people say that Hell’s Bells ROCK!

Look out for the Hell’s Bells experience coming to a town near you soon. The boys are gonna blow you away!
