when helmsley started there were four key members that offered creative input and direction to the core songs i'd written privately. immediately before we were to start work on our first LP, 2/3s of the band quit in protest of the financial sacrifice required to produce the record. i decided to continue on with the plans in spite of having to shoulder the responsibilities solely and it is this attitude thats gone on to permeate my output.
i've worked primarily alone for about 3 or 4 years now which has given me complete creative control over ever accent of every beat of every note of every melody; all a result of my brain's hard work. i have a deep sentimental attachment to these crafted songs for that reason and i believe that it is this passionate investment that's made for a catalogue of music i'm truly proud of and excited to share.
the final component of how these tunes turn out deals with my love affair with garageband. i owe a lot of my progress and evolution as an artist to the ease with which this software has allowed me to explore all avenues of my musical tastes. combining the role of artist, producer, and engineer has shaped my intangible vision into a musical reality.
