Bio
Henrik Belden is a 26 years old musician, born in Lucerne, Switzerland. Henrik’s Grandmother comes from Norkköping Sweden, so you can find traces of scandinavian attitudes in his songs. He grew up in a very musically family, it explains his versatility on different instruments. On his current album he played all instruments by himself.
After touring around with different other bands, he released his first solo album “On The Way To My Guiding Lights” in April 08. On Myspace he is already known as one of the newcomer of the singer songwriter scene (more than 400 plays a day). On the swiss Radiostation is one of the airplay stars in Switzerland. Two years ago he started travelling around the world and on this trip he wrote a lot of beautiful songs and now he has taken twelve of them on his album. He sings about love and the failure of love affairs. Also he tells stories with a political and social background. He wrote songs about his difficult childhood and the constant doubts on his own skills. He let us feel, that he didn’t spend the whole life on the sunny side of life.
This Year he played more than 30 Shows on his tour. Also he played a support show for Amy MacDonald @ Kaufleuten, Zurich. An at the end of the year he got the Kick Ass Award for the best song of the year 2008.
Henrik worked in studio with his Producer Pascal Liefert for two months. Sometimes the album sounds very dreaming and playful and sometimes you can feel the deep melancholy into his wonderful songs. So, Comparisons with the young Damien Rice or Saybia are understandable. You can have a look deep inside Henrik Belden’s soul, but anyway he gives enough space to you to create your own interpretations and your own end of the stories.
He just plays songs for all the lonely hearts and the sad riders. Don’t miss it and listen to the stories he will tell you. You have to believe him, because he is one of us…he is still on the way to his guiding lights.
