Henry Fraser and the Echo

The Echo came together in late 2008. Since starting out, we've built on our broad collective musical experience, making the most of our varied backgrounds in rock, jazz, funk, folk and classical music. We have developed our sound as the band has grown, with a versatility that spans and fuses sweaty rock, mellow folk, full-blooded soul, and intricate and delicate classical and baroque.

We play gigs regularly to good crowds throughout Sydney's inner west and eastern suburbs. We relish each gig because new things come out every time. So, while our earlier material had been more mellow and folky, we played more upbeat sets in our recent gigs. We were able to experience a new level of intensity and excitement - as you can see from some of our pics - and share that with our audience. It was great to see that our trademark three part harmonies could be effective across generic boundaries. With more than twenty songs, we always enjoy the chance to delve into different feelings and tones, with sounds that appeal to different people.

We recorded a demo in November 09 in a one day session at BJB Studios. We hope to find backing to record an EP or album in 2010, and play ever bigger and better gigs.
