Henry Moth

Born in London, Moth moved to Orlando, Florida at the age of six. His father, a self made entrepreneur, inspired an unimaginable work ethic with a bit of a hard edge. Moth’s mother, of mixed Indian descent, exuded a loving free spirit. This instilled a strong sense of determination and compassion in Henry from an early age. As immigrants in the US, Moth’s upbringing was fairly unique to his peers. Never finding a fit in school, Henry left in the seventh grade to pursue musical theatre where he developed his vocal talent, stage presence, and love of the spotlight.

An intense presence of music marked his early teen years where he received his first drum set as a birthday present. He soon learned guitar and piano, although singing was always his passion. Henry began attending local shows on a regular basis and became a roadie with the band Gotti 13. While unable to live the rock and roll lifestyle at 14, it became apparent to Moth a career that didn’t involve creating and performing music was out of the question.

During early adulthood a chance encounter with Terry Stewart, president of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, led to a personal invitation to stay with him at his home in Cleveland. Sparking his ambition, Henry felt determined to contribute something to the Hall of Fame one day. It dawned on him; however, that talent was not enough to succeed in the music industry. Hard work was required to achieve Rock and Roll Hall of Fame status.

By his early 20s Henry had mastered his craft and regularly jammed with various local musicians. Finally finding a strong guitarist, bassist, and drummer Henry assembled The Majestys. Now able to steer the band from the front, The Majestys developed an arsenal of original songs and became a staple among the Orlando music scene.

After four years with The Majestys, Henry recognized the need to branch off as a solo artist. Moth’s style has continued to evolve as he writes and records his first solo EP. An apparent soulful inspiration has broken through his music, while still remaining true to his alternative and indie rock roots, successfully crafting a sound that is distinctly Henry Moth.
