Thanks to their punchy , guitar driven rock sound and their captivating live shows, they have earned a sizable following even beyond the confines of both San Diego and Los Angeles counties. Their full length album ALIVE is a testament - not only to the songwriting partnership of frontman CHRIS IRICK and guitarist TIM MICHOLSON - but to the band's commitment to unadulterated rock n roll at a time when rock n roll ain't getting the support and the play that it deserves. In a global music scene where most bands find themselves following a trend to get noticed, few bands keep with their roots and stay true to the sound that defined the members as musicians. San Diego's Her Bed of Thorns takes pride in breaking that mold and showcases the elements that made rock n'roll what it always has been about; attitude, energy, musicianship and in this case, the Southern California coastal lifestyle.
This four piece rock outfit hailing out of Encinitas, California, brings a blend of groove-based hard rock and melodic, soulful vocals that stand out in a scene where screaming reigns king. Armed with high energy and Marshall charged guitar riffs mixed with their own brand of emotional songwriting, Her Bed of Thorns has the ability to switch from hard-hitting rockers to audience-grabbing ballads setting this band apart from other current and past artists.
Founded in 2007 by vocalist/guitarist Chris Irick and guitarist Tim Nicholson, Her Bed of Thorns went through an evolutionary process that began to define their signature West Coast hard rock sound. Bassist Raj Vyas and drummer Will Thompson finalized the lineup
Her Bed of Thorns' influences are gathered from a combination of traditional blues and heavier classic rocks bands like Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Black Sabbath filtered and refined through the decades to evolve into a more 90?s-grunge/groove rock feel now compared to bands such as Alice In Chains, Metallica, and Guns N' Roses.. bands that put alternative hard rock on the map.
With their fast rise within the San Diego music scene and radio airplay on some of San Diego's biggest rock stations. Her Bed of Thorns is well on its way to becoming a force to be reckoned with and is enjoying the fruits of success in seeing their work being embraced by an ever growing audience of listeners.
