I am a story telling songwriter. Harry Chapin and Jackson Browne are examples of writers that I love, who REALLY know how to tell a story. I try to focus in on the point I am trying to make like a laser, and stay on that "hook" to the end. My main goal is to be entertaining. That being said, my influences are very eclectic from the Beatles to Yes and Genesis to James Taylor to Andrew Lloyd Weber and Andrea Bocelli. I also love country music also because of the great storytelling. People like Tim Mcgraw, Johnny Cash, and Tracy Byrd can really tell you a great story in 4 minutes! I really love songs and artists that have very specific messages, that you feel you REALLY know what was trying to be conveyed. I use all different genres, song structures, rhythms, and pauses to convey the emotion that a songs requires...after all, it's the EMOTION and CONFIDENCE that goes into a performance that will bond you with the audience. The one word that people say to me, after my performance is that I was ENTERTAINING...I take charge and make that required connection to the audience...isn't that what it's all about ?
