Discography

Here Be Dragons has released three CD’s: “Alcohol & Rain,” “Celtic Bonding,” and “Bright New Tomorrow."

The band is currently working on three new CDs, which will be released in 2010:

"Mae Yma Dreigiau" is a Welsh-language CD comprised of new translations of classic Here Be Dragons songs, as well as some brand new songs.

"Terra Nova" is a CD of all new, original material in both English and Welsh.

"Gwlad" is a CD of rugby anthems popular amongst Welsh rugby fans.

Here Be Dragons was also a featured artist on the original "Wales in Union" compilation CD. This CD, created for Welsh rugby supporters, highlighted the best of Welsh music, including Tom Jones, The Manic Street Preachers, and Dame Shirley Bassey. The CD was such a success that a second compilation will be released in February, 2010, which will once again feature Here Be Dragons.

Bio

Regarded as one of the foremost folk-rock bands emanating from Wales, Here Be Dragons’ live shows have had crowds dancing and partying in festivals and venues all across Europe and in the United States. Over the past few years, Here Be Dragons have toured in the USA, England, Italy, France, Scotland, Germany, The Netherlands, Slovenia, Ireland, Switzerland, and, of course, Wales. Their performances include appearances at the Sesiwn Fawr Dolgellau and Pontardawe Festivals in Wales; Party Time in Chateaux D’Oex, Switzerland; and the Dundein (Florida) Celtic Festival and the Chicago Celtic Festival in the United States. In March, 2003 they played to a crowd of 30,000 in Bologna, Italy.

Here Be Dragons is proud to announce that they have been chosen to represent Wales at the Pan Celtic Festival in Dingle, Co. Kerry, Ireland in April, 2010.

Here Be Dragons try to be true to their culture and heritage, not as a museum exhibit but in a way that’s a more honest reflection of what it means to be Welsh in the twenty-first century whilst still respecting their Celtic roots. Using acoustic instruments like banjos, mandolins, fiddles and accordions alongside drums and electric bass in a way that’s far from most people’s idea of a Celtic folk-rock band; the emphasis is much more on the rock style of presentation. They sing in both Welsh and English and play mainly original songs, but also include a couple of traditional ones such as “Sosban Fach” and “Calon Lan,” and interpret them with all the power they deserve.

Here Be Dragons have supported many of the top names in World/Folk music, such as The Young Dubliners, Carlos Nuñes, The Oysterband, Flook and The Modena City Ramblers.
