"Pop Punk Is Back And Better Than Ever"

There is, among some fans in the music industry, an idea that pop punk is dead, dying or at the very least in desperate need of of a savior. While it's true that one needs look further than the top 29 songs on the Billboard chart to find a semblance of pop punk, a quintet of Cincinnati rockers is doing it's part to show that the genre is not only alive and well, but poised for yet another resurgence. Cory Behm (vocals), Ryan Villasanti (drums), Josh Schilling (bass), Curtis Boeing (guitar) and David Voll (guitar) — soon to be better known as Heres to the Heroes — draw from a wide range of influences to produce a high-energy pop punk sound that they call "super catchy" with "more hooks than an Alaskan fishing boat." The band hopes to embody the values of punk music with the heart of hard core and the songs they've released so far show they do so with aplomb. - Stan J. Homegen, Indie Blogger

Bio

Here's to the Heroes, local heroes hoping to become your heroes. It's their music and live show that are all about having fun and staying young, Here's to the Heroes is the epitome of a good time. Amidst all the angst and trendy sad pop punk out there, Here's to the Heroes are the exception. Focused on the lighter side of life, these driven individuals including Cory Behm (Vocals), Ryan Villasanti (Drums), Eric Behm (Keyboards), Curtis Boeing (Guitar), Dave Voll (Guitar), Josh Schilling (Bass) are all about bringing a smile to your face.

Vocalist Cory Behm sums up their message best, "We're happy, and we want to make everyone else happy." They're all about getting the most out of life and showing others it's always too early to throw in the towel. "We want our fans to see us as a bunch of guys who never gave up on having fun," Behm continues.

Often involving the fans in every aspect of the band, it's their interaction to their audience that's turned their acquaintances into long-time best friends. Having fans be a part of multiple music videos and often sharing the mic into crowds at shows. Citing their true fans as their musical
fuel, it's also their surroundings that have shaped them. Gaining inspiration from familiar landscapes and suburbia, it's clear their loyalty lies on the crossroads of Ohio.

Their distinctive sound is what sets Here's to the Heroes apart from the pack, pushing pop punk beyond it's musical boundaries with a mix of hardcore, powerful vocal melodies amongst soaring synth leads courtesy of keyboardist, Eric Behm, that will have you craving for more. It's their high energy, rally chants and brutal honesty about hanging onto their youth, in a world that demands for you to grow up, that will catch your attention.

Not only are they hungry for you to listen, the band has a strong passion and love for food. Everything they do starts with a good meal. "When going into the studio, it starts with food. Always with food. We are a hungry band and we love to eat!" Bassist, Josh Schilling admits.

The band has been very much DIY from the start. Working hard to stay afloat and they even print their own merchandise themselves. But, don't feel sorry for them. Having already achieved their dream of playing Warped Tour the summer of 2011, these dudes are realizing their
aspirations are becoming a reality.

Recently signing to Stand Firm Records, the five piece is ready to branch out and take their Cincy roots to the masses. With their second EP, Summer Nights, under their belts, the guys in Here's to the Heroes are ready and hungry (literally and figuratively) for more. So bring on the
McChickens and burritos, because these dudes are amped and prepared for a good time. Come spring, their label debut release hits as well as extensive touring.

Simply put in their "A Better Life" track these lyrics ring spot on to summing up exactly what Here's to the Heroes are about: "I hope I never stop dreaming of a better life…" And that's exactly what they plan on achieving.
