here's to you

Here's to You is a rock band from Knoxville Tennessee. Formed in September 2006, HTY has come a very long way in a short amount of time. In the first 45 minutes of playing together as a band the single "Wasted" began to take form out of thin air. From that night forward, everyone knew something special was about to take place. Over the next three weeks six songs came together as a result of countless hours. Eager to get out and play live shows, Here's to You began to play locally (to great success) after only 7 weeks as band. After taking second place (out of 15 bands) in a local Battle of the Bands after only 2 months of existence, HTY received a phone call from recording engineer/long-time session guitarist John Fristoe based out of Athens Georgia. Citing potential and a desire to help his fellow musicians, Fristoe offered to record HTY for the first time free of charge. In December, Here’s to You spent a sleepless weekend tracking what would become their 4 song demo on a reel-to-reel analog recording setup. After arriving back in Tennessee armed with a raw demo, Here's to You began to quickly fill up venues across the city by word of mouth. In three short months, Here's to You had over 12,000 plays on its website. After over 40 live shows (booked on live reputation and the aforementioned demo) and the addition of Brent Myers on bass, Here's to You went in to record its debut album in early March at Nightsong Studios with local engineer Jesse Jones. Slated for release in the coming months, Here's to You's self-titled debut album is sure to continue the buzz which the band has started. The band plans to tour extensively in support of the album, reaching all those who desire to hear honest, sincere rock music. Combining emotional lyrics, hook-filled choruses, and energetic dynamic tempo changes with just enough power to create something truly unique, Here's to You is just getting started.
