Heresy

It all began back in 2009 after a Metallica concert, on November the 3rd. At that time, Francis and Gabriel decided to join Brandon and Joey to try and form a band. The group, determined to be successful in the industry of music, is meeting many times a week to practice and write new songs. Soon enough, the time came to find a fitting band name and after a few days, they decided that they would be known as Heresy. Their first opportunity to play on stage came in 2010, in a High School event called Secondaire en Spectacle. After a great performance, a medley of some of Metallica's biggest hits, they win the contest and earn the right to represent their school in the regional final. A couple of months later, the members decided to be even more serious about the band which ends with Joey deciding to leave, having less time to practice and play with the others. Following that decision, the other three members announced that auditions were going to take place to find a new drummer. They chose Maxime, Gabriel's older brother as well as Francis' cousin. In 2011, the producer of Secondaire en Spectacle invites the band to open that year's event as the winners of the precedent edition. Heresy played Deserted Mind, their own composition, which became their first creation ever played in front of a crowd. In October of 2011, the group participates in one of the biggest contests in the whole province of Quebec, the Omnium Du Rock, and wins the first round after a stunning performance and the acclamations of the crowd. They were also invited to play for the launch of heavy metal band Dissentient's most recent album in January 2012. After a few weeks in the studio, it's on the 5th of June that Heresy released their first demo, made of three songs including: Time of Dying, By Your Side and Monster.
