Heritage Survival Is A Group Of energetic Talented Musicians From Zimbabwe Who Have Relocated In Manchester-UK. It Was Formed In 2002 By Zivai Guveya[The Ex lead guitarist of The Lion Of Zimbabwe's Dr.Thomas Mapfumo]. He Started To Play With Dr. Thomas Mapfumo When He Was Aged 15 And From There He Has Never Stopped Loving His Music. After He Recorded 5 Albums With Dr.Thomas Mapfumo He Moved To England And Get Together With his old friends Who Were Already Living In England.Their Music Is Afro-Fusion,Roots,World And Its A mix Of Guitars And A Zimbabwean Traditional Instrument Mbira Which Is" Thumb-Piano" In English. We Have Recorded Our Debut Album Entitled Pasi, Meaning This World. We Have Performed In A Number Of Prestigious Venues Around The UK Including Ocean In London, Manchester Academy, Womad Festival, Luton Carnival, Band On The Wall And Supporting The Famous Lagbwaja From Nigeria And The 'In The City' Trade Fair In Manchester,Cholton Arts Festival 2009,Just A Few To Mention. Zivai Is The Lead Singer/Lead Guitarist/Composer. He Has Loved Music Since He Was Young. He Also Participated In "Olivine" Advertisement With Oliver Mutukudzi Who's One Of The Biggest Musicians In Zimbabwe. Some Of The Heritage Band Members Have Worked With The Leading Lights Of Zimbabwean Artists Such As The Likes Of Alick Macheso, Tongai Moyo, Mbuya Stella Chiweshe. The Band Have Also Backed Fred Gwala And Platform One Sharing The Stage With Zola From South Africa Mid 2005 And 2006. Paul Kuzinya Is One Of Harare's Finest Drummers. He Has Recorded Several Albums With Madzibaba Nicholas Zakhariya, One Of The Great Harare Musicians. He Recorded A Well Known Album Called "Samanyemba" In 2002 With Tongai Moyo. Since The Day He Was Able To Hold His Drumsticks He Has Never Put Them Down. It Is Mesmerizing What He Does When He Plays On Stage. Norman[Jekanyika] The Bass Player Has Worked With Savannah Arts Marimba From Mbare In Harare. He Has Also Worked With Dzinde Re Musha Youth Edition[Dye Hard Crew] Together With Zivai In 1998. He Is An Amazing Choreographer, Dancer, Mbira Player And Singer. He Has Loved His Music Since He Was Young. When It Comes To The Performance, He Is Very Energetic And Enjoys What He's Doing. Thomson Chauke Is An Energetic Performer Who Has Worked With The Late Simon Chimbetu, Aleck Macheso And Is Now Playing Percussion, Backing Vocals,Drums And Dances With Heritage. Tracy Zengeni Is A Dancer,Singer,Backing Vocalist With A Sweet Voice.Once She Started Doing Music When She Was Young At Primary School She Never Gave Up. We Also Lead Dance, Percussion, Songs And Drumming Workshops In Schools,Colleges,Community Centres And At Festivals Around The World. All The Heritage Survival Band Members Have All Shown Their Light In Zimbabwe. We Are Currently Recording Our Second Album, (The Challange Of Afro-Fusion), Which Will Be Out During The Summer Of 2011. We Are Extremely Working Hard To Pass Our Message And Good Music To The World.
