About The Future

Written By: Ryan Feldman

I’m gonna keep you at an arms length

to save my point of view from a slow death

I’m not gonna believe any of your empty threats

And I
I’m not gonna hide from the future

And I
I’m gonna find a solution

I’m gonna march against your policies

And teach the children about your politics

I’m gonna scoff at all your rhetoric

And I’m gonna spread all of my messages

And I
I’m gonna try to care about the future

And I
I’m gonna give retribution

I’m gonna read all of your documents

And I’m gonna bring forth all the evidence

Shine a light on the whole circumstance

I’m gonna bring down all the governments

And I
I’m gonna take charge of the future

And I
I’m gonna start a revolution
I’m gonna reveal all your past regrets

I’m gonna exploit all of your weaknesses

I’m gonna free all of the terrorists

And I’m gonna insult all of the prophets

And I
I’m gonna survive the future

And I
I’m gonna build a generation

Now I’m not gonna share any sentiments

And I’m not gonna return any complements

Though I appreciate it you can kiss my ass

And I’m gonna puke all over your wedding dress

And I
I’m gonna complain about the future

Commercials For Heaven

Written By: Ryan Feldman

I got a hyperbolic television disillusion
Feels like solipsistic aphoristic ice-cream headache
Or maybe just a narcissistic apoplectic disappointment

Whatever it is it’s killing me
Whatever it is it’s killing me
Whatever it is it’s killing me

Give me an ibuprofen percocet revelation - Now Now Now
Oh baby don’t hold out
Or send me a Holy vision
Just keep it brief and I’ll write it down

Oh and if i could find a way out of my situation
If I could climb out of this desperation

Now I know your heart is gone I heard you talking on your Cellphone
Thought I heard you say you think I’m not the one
Well if it’s true then that’s okay I feel the same way anyway
Or maybe I’m just being Paranoid

Maybe I’m just being paranoid
Yeah maybe I’m just being paranoid

Anyway, I took a ride on the streetcar and there was a lady
She had a hot-dog, laryngitis and a cellphone - she was causing a scene

I took a look out of my window up to the sky
I watched these fluffy clouds float by
And they looked just like the kind they use in

Commercials for heaven
Commercials for heaven

Oh they looked just like the kind they use in

Commercials for heaven
Commercials for heaven

I want to be low to the ground
I’m coming down

I want to be low to the ground
I’m coming down

Commercials for heaven
Commercials for heaven

For Fear

Written By: Ryan Feldman

For fear of the disease, contamination, being alone

For fear a dark shadow covers my joy

And for fear

of what the ghost wants
What the ghost wants
What the ghost wants

Your eyes
Your eyes
do see
the light

As you rise
You rise
to greet
the night

For fear of how you might have taken my message

For fear that I never heard a single word you spoke

And for fear I thought of that and didn’t tell you

For fear eyes were on us the entire time

And for fear

of what the ghost wants
what the ghost wants
What the ghost wants

Your eyes, your eyes
do see the night

As you rise
You rise
to reach
the light

For fear

The Love

Written By: Ryan Feldman

Don’t lie about your B.A.
lie about you B.A
on your resume

Or tell me that you’re Jesus
tell me that you’re Jesus
on the subway

Don’t nudge me into chaos
throw me into chaos
with your hip bone and your thighs

And keep it to yourself
keep it to yourself
about

the love, the love, the love
the love, the love, the love
the love, the love, the love

Don’t write about your wet dream
write about your wet dream
in your cahier with a stylo

Or cover up your birth mark
cover up your birth mark
with a tattoo of a fish

And cure me of aloneness
cure me of aloneness
with your dance of the devil

And keep it in your pants
keep it in your pants
about

the love, the love, the love
the love, the love, the love
the love, the love, the love

I’m okay with a nap in the afternoon
give me an ocean and a beach
and I’ll be fine

But don’t lie about your B.A.
lie about your B.A.
on the subway

Or tell me that you’re Jesus
tell me that you’re jesus
on your resume

And cure me of illusion
cure me of illusion
with your hip bone and your thighs

Don’t nudge me into chaos
throw me into chaos
with

the love, the love, the love
the love, the love, the love
the love, the love, the love

Alibi

Written By: Ryan Feldman

I don’t know what you’re doing here the show’s already over
and I don’t know who you think you are you got to show your ID
And I don’t care that you got no home I see where you’ve been hiding
I don’t care that you got no phoneI know you’ve been calling

Don’t know what you’re missing all the stories are amazing
Gone too far down too long the same old sorry song

An alibi
Oh I need an alibi
An alibi
Oh I need an alibi...

I don’t care how you feel right now you get your little ass out of bed.
And I don’t know what you’re looking but you better not make a mess
I don’t care what you’re trying to do you better make a contribution
And I don’t think that you’ll get too far you got to have a license

Don’t know what I’m missing all the stories are amazing
Gone too far down too long mother can you have compassion

I don’t like the way that you talk; it makes you sound like you’re wearing a mask
Maybe it’s those clothes that you wear -they make you look like you’re somebody else
Probably all those lies you believe musta caused a chain reaction.
Cause I don’t know what you’re trying to say but I can tell what you’re thinking.

Don’t know what we’re missing all the stories are amazing.
Gone too far down too long brother can you spare some action

Or an alibi
Oh I need an alibi
An alibi
Oh I need an alibi

Nobody’s interested or listening whisper me an alibi

Nobody’s interested or listening whisper me an alibi

I wanna fly
Oh, on my alibi
Yeah let’s ride
on our alibi

Nobody Wants to Love Me

Written By: Ryan Feldman

Nobody wants to love me
and nobody understands me
So I’ll just keep on, keepin’ on
yeah, yeah til I’m gone

Nobody ever believes me
and nobody really sees me
So I’ll just keep on, keepin’ on
yeah, yeah til I’m gone.

Nobody wants to touch me,
nobody wants to feel me
So I’ll just keep on, keepin’ on
yeah, yeah til I’m gone

Dear God,
Please help me
that I should not be so alone.
Cause there’s so much loneliness,
so much emptiness

I hope you can find the time
to say a prayer
for me

(Repeat once)

Retribution On The Day Your Purse Was Stolen

Written By: Ryan Feldman

Like a man far from his religion
Like a hotel suicide unfulfilled

The Ottawa bridge moans
for the canal below
to return it’s echo
to lake Ontario

So that in Toronto
a rain will fall
against my voice
as I whisper apologies
to victims of revenge fantasies
I slaughter in my mind

Well except for the one
who touched you wrong
I guess I could have shown
a little mercy

The Ottawa bridge moans
for the canal below
to carry it’s echo
to lake Ontario

So that in Toronto
a rain will fall
against my voice
as I whisper apologies
to victims of revenge fantasies
I slaughter in my mind

Well except for the one
who touched you wrong
I guess I could have shown
a little mercy

Oh mercy mercy me

I Forget

Written By: Ryan Feldman

I forget
the first time we met.
And all the promises I never kept.
I forget my last regret.

I forget, I forget.

Yesterday I saw a rock star
on the streetcar, who smiled at me
I was shy and turned my head
and the moment was gone.

That night I saw guy who looked
just like my dad, who walked right by
and didn’t wave. I suppose it wasn’t him.
Although who knows.

Now it’s noon
and I’ve walked into a crowded room.
I don’t know what to do.
If I could dance I’d probably meet someone.
If I could only dance.

Because I can’t doesn’t mean I’m bad in bed.
No, no I’m really good in bed.
Because I’m very passionate.
A lady told me once.

Some say,
tomorrow is another day.
Hey that’s not such a bad cliche.
It’s works for me and it’s the only one I know.
I guess that why I’m kinda lucky.

I’ve also heard the trick to life
is attitude.
Wish I knew
How to put that one to use.

I think I did
when I was just a kid
but now
I forget.

Shut Up Pretend You Love Me

Written By: Ryan Feldman

Sometimes you hide
Sometimes you cry
Sometimes you fight

Some days you’re mad
Some days you’re sad
Some days you’re not

Ah, why don’t you just
Shut up and pretend that you love me
Shut up and pretend that you love me
Shut up and pretend that you love me now

You’re ranting and you’re raving and you’re crying and you’re screaming
Breaking all the dishes and you’re looking for a razor
Cause you didn’t get invited to the party
To the party
To the party
Oh, you don’t belong

Sometimes you hide
Sometimes you cry
Sometimes you fight

Some days you’re mad
Some days you’re sad
Some days you’re not

Ah, why don’t you just
Shut up and pretend that you love me
Shut up and pretend that you love me
Shut up and pretend that you love me now

You’re ranting and you’re raving and you’re crying and you’re screaming
Breaking all the dishes and you’re looking for a reason
Cause you didn’t get invited to the party
To the party
To the party
Oh, you don’t belong

Belong
Belong
Belong
Oh, oh, no, you don’t belong

Ah, why don’t you just
Shut up and pretend that you love me
Shut up and pretend that you love me
Shut up and pretend that you love me now

Hold Me Down

Written By: Ryan Feldman

You make a better hostess than a protester
Busker than an entertainer
Tele-marketer than a filmmaker
A fashion victim than a wanna-be DJ

All your causes are hopeless
And if you send another email
They’re gonna have to hold me down

Hold me down
Hold me down
Hold me down

Take my hand and follow me to the rally
Let’s take a stand let’s spark a street riot

You make a better waitress than an activist
A retailer than a curator
A statistic than a pacifist
A consumer than human

All your hobbies are atrocious
And if you send another email
They’re gonna have to hold me down

Hold me down
Hold me down
Hold me down

They’re crawling all over the city
They’re crawling all, they’re crawling all over me
They’re gonna have to hose me down

Hose me down
Hose me down
Hose me down

Take my hand and follow me to the rally
Let’s take a stand let’s spark a street riot

Hold me down
