Bio
Heroes Of Modern Earth is an alt rock act based out of the suburbs of
Atlantic City, New Jersey. The band is fronted by oddball vocalist and
songwriter Amanda Hyrns alongside Justin
Ruppert on drums. Influences include groups such as The Used, Say
Anything, The Bouncing Souls, Green Day, Propagandhi, and Hammock. Hyrns
originally started the band in 2011, the year she graduated high
school, to deviate from her peers’ standards of success. She’s hit a few
interesting milestones for the project since.
In 2013, the
band signed to Hopeless Records. Releasing its self-produced EP,
DayTripper. However, their relationship with the record label was
short-lived. Hyrns was eager to satisfy her punk roots and politically
driven message with new music, but they were having major creative
differences. That's when she teamed up with an unlikely friend, worship
leader/producer Shane Becker, to record a better representation of the
intended sound. Addressing her grapple with mental illness, addiction,
gender dysphoria, homophobia, and sexism.
Society’s Disowned
will be released independently, launching Temporary Records, on February
24th. Its second track, “Artless,” provides a quick glimpse into Hyrns'
conceptual anarchy.
