Bio

Heroes Rust plays a unique blend of punk and hardcore - injected with technical elements influenced by contemporaries like A Wilhelm Scream, Thrice and Hot Water Music. "We didn't start the band with any particular genre in mind; between the four of us, interests range from classical to 60's folk to death metal. We just got together to write songs that we thought rocked pretty hard." Heroes Rust was formed in the summer of 2005 by guitarists Kevin Carlson and Ryan Karabaic, who were eager to start a new project after the demise of their former group. Devan Beimler - who lived down the street from the two, was a long-time friend, and was also looking to start a new band quickly joined them. "We knew one thing for sure - we wanted to write good songs. Most bands in our area and time were writing simple, recycled hooks and singing about how cute they thought girls were. Kids went to shows to smoke outside, see their friends' band, and leave. We wanted show-going and local music in general to be fun and connected again. Furthermore, we wanted to put meaning behind what we wrote; to be able write insightful, personal stories as well as songs promoting social awareness and change." The band's name came from an observation made by its members that, as one grows out of a youthful state, they begin to experience and accept the ugly realities of the world.

After 2 and a half years of songwriting, and a recent change in the line-up, Heroes Rust has finally put out an official 5 track EP entitled "March of the Fallen". The EP was recorded at the Bomb Shelter studio, and produced by owner/operator Dan Precision (88 Fingers Louie, Rise Against, Zero to Sixty). They are currently looking to book as many shows as possible, and spread the good word to any and all music listeners who wish to join them in their efforts to combat the all-too-common apathetic state of mind.
