Bio

Herostreet represents a team that extends beyond the 5 musicians in the band to all the people who play a role in the making of this project. We consider all of our mentors, the professionals we work with and the fans/supporters that played a role in the inspiration or production of our music to be a part of who we are.
The band came together when the Rico-Becerra siblings where invited to the Hispanic Choice Awards, the biggest Latino event in the Delaware area, to make their debut in the media. They did not have a bass player at the time. Victor, a mutual friend and the guitarist at the time, brought Kenty Love in to learn the songs and play. Momentum picked up after this presentation. Victor then had to leave the band for personal reasons, but Kenty who by now had become a member of the band brought Jorge Caraballo in to begin the recording of Almas and later Almas Desnudas.
Where we come from. The Facts.

• The band is made up of three siblings from Colombia and two long time friends from Puerto Rico.
• Marian Rico (vocals and piano), Jose Rico( Lead vocals and guitar), Milton Rico (Drummer), Kenty Love (Bass), Jorge Caraballo ( lead guitar)
• Music runs in the veins of the Rico-Becerra family since the parents were professional musicians in Colombia for almost 2 decades.
• This musical influence became very important when the family moved to the US in 2002, because this is where they began to understand the power of music to express feelings and bring people together.
• With their parents returning late from long work hours, their focus shifted towards putting on shows for their arrival. They acted out short skits and composed songs for them and in the process this became an opportunity for them to bond and grow.
• Slowly, different friends from the community began to see some of the home shows and this began to pave a path for the siblings in music.
• Meanwhile, Kenty Love and Jorge Caraballo, had become the pioneers of the Rock en Espanol scene in Philadelphia.
• In 1994 Kenty formed the first Rock en Espanol band in Philly called Makiaveliko.
• Later, Jorge joined him in the locally renowned band called Kandela and Tribal Scream.

• Towards the end of the year 2009, Herostreet recorded their first production as an Extended Play (EP) called “Almas…” in Studio Crash (Philadelphia, PA).
• Performances in the prestigious event “Hispanic Choice Awards” held at the Kimmel Center and others held in places like World Café Live and Penn’s Landing established Herostreet (initially Riko) as the most representative band in its genre within the Delaware Valley.
• From 2010, under the musical production of Shafik Palis, who is well recognized within the industry and obtained a degree from Berklee, Herostreet has been developing a recording project called, “Almas Desnudas”. The recording process took place in the well known Studio 4 (Conshohoken, PA) and the mixing in Golden Door Productions.
• Herostreet has played with bands such as Los Amigos Invicibles (Latin Grammy Winning band from Venezuela), and Superlitio (Best Colombian rock band according to the Shock awards).
• Jay Rico, who is the youngest of the four total Rico-Becerra siblings has also demonstrated parallel commitment and contributed to the band in various forms. In the artistic field, he contributed with music composition and production. He has also contributed to marketing by his designing the official web site and working in many of the audiovisual aspects of the band.

Finally, we have made enormous efforts in order to achieve this production. We hope to fulfill the expectations of the audience who looks forward to having an unforgettable experience when listening to the feelings of the constant changing youth. We make optimistic music and we highly enjoy the process that has taken a lot of dedication. But most importantly we would like to thank those who have believed in Herostreet and who continue to follow us in every step of the way.
