Growing up in Chicago can be difficult, it does not seem to matter where you live, inner city or the suburbs. In a city plagued with violence a tragedy is never to far. But for the youth there who refuse to be another statistic, music is providing hope to up and coming artists. Common and Kanye West are examples of the many greats have hailed from The Chi. The new wave of artists like Chance the Rapper and many others are bringing change and hope.

Hershe is a female rapper on the rise. She grew up on the Southside of Chicago notorious for it’s high crime rate. However, this young girl immersed herself in music and film to escape the environment around her. When asked about life growing up and Chicago and choosing music she said, “I want to be able to tell my story from my point of view before someone else does.
There is a lot of skepticism about what Chicago’s environment is really like. How the gangs run rapid across the city and kill innocent people. Although that may be true , they never get to the point of why those things may happen. That is where I come in.
So basically me and my best friend decided the best way we will get the message across to people was to become Hip-Hop Artists”.

Hershe definitely displays this message in her music. That added with a laid back vibe that you can ride out to and her voice smooth sounding vocals that are relaxing to listen to. She also incorporates a 90’s flow into modern sounding beats to make her music different. However, she describes her sound as “A boom bap type of sound with the new era propaganda, up-tempo vibes with a lot of instruments”.

An emerging Artist based out of Chicago, IL that brings you good vibes from the early 90s to the the current vibes of the 20th century. Hershe manages to give you the best of both worlds with the up-tempo beats and boom-bap sounds, mixing her versatile flow on any instrumental. She brings you the visuals of her home town Chicago with her selective word play and comprehendable slang , you might be able to grasp it all with one listen. With a creative style and down to earth personality Hershe captivates all listeners with her serene voice and realistic nature.
Hershe has performed at many venues in California since she relocated from her home town; starting from local bars in the IE like The Vibe, to local Bars in Downtown LA like Los Globos and Fais DoDo. She has also played at the Legendary Troubadour opening up for Vince Staples, Audio Push and Common and has had the opportunity to Perform at the Observatory opening up for Action Bronson and Hodygy Beats from Odd Future. With her hard work and amazing stage presence last fall she landed on the A3C Festival stage in Atlanta. and lastly before she touched down in Los Angeles she hit the stage with Twista at the House of Blues in Chicago. Last year she released her project "Untitled Playlist" and is currently working on her next Project LETTERS. Which will be Releasing in a few months. So make sure you guys are on the look out!
