Hex-O has a broad range of influences to draw from which, contributes to his diversity as an artist. Hex-O’s father and uncle were both accomplished musicians and played blue grass and folk music. As a result, of this exposure to music and musicianship Hex-O began playing the guitar at age 10. Eventually, Hex-O went on to play in local rock bands and thrash bands while he also loved Hip Hop. It was not long before Hex-O would get an opportunity to demonstrate his true love of Hip Hop as a known entity at the infamous “Royal Peacock’s” open mic arena in Atlanta, Georgia. The Royal Peacock is accredited for launching the careers of artist like D4L and Young Joc. Hex-O impressed DJ Speedy as a force to reckon with, emerging as the victor in the “Best of the Best” competitions at the Royal Peacock. Ultimately, DJ Speedy decided that Hex-O was a genuine article and indeed worthy of his mentorship. Thus, Speedy took Hex-O on as a protégé.t
