"Hey Frankie @ Revolver"

Hey Frankie is music for the soul. With eclectic funk overtones and smooth bass lines that stretch out for days, the band melds the rich and sultry vocals of Jess Palmer with an electronic sensibility that just begs you to shuffle your feet. The perfectly metered doses of neo-soul give Hey Frankie a potent identify: you hear the raw, gravely sounds of Amy Winehouse, balanced by a earthy self assuredness of India Arie. Its influences work to create a wide and exciting sonic landscape, and the instrumental mastery exhibited by this bright young group gives a sense of what there is to come.

Hey Frankie reaches into your heart cavity and switches on your life switch – next time they’re playing, be there and see for yourself.

"Hey Frankie at the Melbourne International Jazz Festival"

"Hey Frankie played to a full house in their debut performance for the Melbourne International Jazz Festival in June 2014. The band showcased their diverse repertoire which melds elements of the jazz lineage, heavy neo-sou/hop-hop grooves and electronica aesthetics. They attracted a diverse audience who were completely engaged in the 2 sets. The members of Hey Frankie are a great example of the creative and talented pool of musicians coming up in the Melbourne music scene."

Bio

Hey Frankie is a five piece group from Melbourne, Australia, who's tunes unify elements of Neo-Soul, Jazz, Electronic and Pop into organic sonic narratives. The group was born in late August 2013, and released their debut EP "I See You" in October to a sell-out show at the Toff in Town (Melbourne). Rave reviews followed, culminating three tracks from the E.P. climbing to the top 5 of the overall Triple J Unearthed charts in November. Exciting times followed in 2014: Hey Frankie performed a sell-out show in their Melbourne International Jazz Festival debut, featuring 14 new songs they wrote within 3 months. Their upcoming single, "Werewolf", received an exclusive preview on a nation-wide PBS106.7 broadcast. Further, two tracks from their EP ("Leave" and "I See You") were selected to form part of the "Love Your Sister" Documentary film score (featuring Samuel Johnson and Guy Pearce), which aired across Australia in May.

The best is yet to come for HF in 2014: the group has made a major evolutionary step in tracking their upcoming E.P, "Guess Who", slated for release in November 2014. With this, they completed their first major music video production with award winning director Alistair Marks, to be released in October 2014.
