Indie rock. It's all been done before. The challenge lies in creating something original, and Hey Arbore has done just that. With a rare 3:1 girl-to-guy ratio, Hey Arbore (pronounced ar-bor-ay) fuses well-crafted harmonies and pop sensibilities into catchy, bittersweet, jangly rock tunes. The male-female dynamic is essential to their sound, as opposed to a mere accent. With a musical synergy that gives you the warm feeling of sipping apple cider during a fall chill, you would never guess that the band was thrown together by chance and circumstance, with not a single member knowing another before the project began in 2007. The current line-up of Chris Ketcham (guitar), Suraya Mohammed (bass), Tammy Tuck (keys), and Julie Yoder (drums) has been playing shows in and around Washington, DC since December 2008.
