"The Year of the New Artist"

"After dabbling with development deals and entertaining offers for several years, High Flight Society finally connects with a label to introduce its high-decibel alt-rock to a broder audience." - CCM Magazine

"High Flight Society From Far Above Somewhere"

Hailing from Cedartown, GA, High Flight Society delivers stunning modern rock crunch with uncompromised anthems of hope and faith in Christ. Their national debut From Far Above Somewhere, produced by Tony Palacios (Sixpence, tobyMac, By The Tree, Audio Adrenaline), will surely emerge as one of the most impressive new Christian Rock releases in recent years. The band patiently spent the last two years steadfastly developing their unique sound and building a loyal fanbase in the fertile rock zone of Atlanta. - CMC Distribution

Bio

With the release of their debut album "From Far Above Somewhere" on the horizon, Selectric Records recording artist HighFlightSociety (Jason Wilkes/vocals and guitar, Michael Packer/guitar, John Packer/bass and Scotty Lockridge/drums) is set to make a mark in the worlds of both Christian music and modern rock.

Recorded in about four weeks at the Sound Kitchen in Cool Springs, Tenn. with producer Tony Palacios (Decyfer Down), "From Far Above Somewhere" features what the Atlanta band confidently feels are the best eleven songs of their career thus far - songs about the triumph of finding a place in the world ("Up Above"), the tragedy of loss ("Get By") and the joy of discovering something to believe in ("Declaration").

HighFlightSociety began writing songs in 2001 when Michael, Scotty, and John invited Jason to try out for lead singer. The chemistry was instant, with their first song being written at that very audition. The band's subsequent songs caught the ears of several producers over the years such as Barry Blair (Audio Adrenaline),Otto Price (DC Talk) and more recently John and Dino Elefante (Kansas). Mutiple EPs were recorded during the past 5 years with each maturing musically, lyrically, and spiritually as the guys became a tight unit honing their sound - melodic modern rock that falls somewhere between Jimmy Eat World and the Foo Fighters. In 2004, HFS received runner-up in the nationwide Christian Music Talent Search, beating out over 6000 other bands from around the country. The band has had the distinction of playing the Atlanta leg of the Van's Warped Tour and has shared the stage with the likes of Bayside,The Smoking Popes, Chasing Victory and Monday Morning among others. And HighFlightSociety continues to play wherever their music leads them, whether it be large clubs, small, smoke filled bars or churches.

More recently, the band began receiving national radio airplay for their single "Up Above" and made an appearance on the television program "Steelroots." In support of the new album, HFS also embarked on their first tour of the Southeastern United States with Flicker recording artist Freshmen 15, all the while fine tuning their energetic live show and making numerous new fans and friends in the process.

Even as HighFlightSociety enters the next phase of their career, their ambition remains the same - to create music that passionately and honestly spreads a message of hope and salvation to a generation and world that desparately need it.
