Bio

High Friday was pleasantly surprised and humbled when they heard one fan describe them as “the love child of Styx and Iron Maiden”. Fans of all ages are drawn into the fervent storytelling lyrics and impassioned music of High Friday. “High Friday’s music is a journey for the soul” said another fan. The passion, emotion and musical ability of this group is undeniable and they thrive on delivering their fans an experience to remember.

High Friday started when childhood friends, Brad Willard (songwriter/lead vocalist/guitarist) and Scott Finn (songwriter/bass player/vocals), reunited in 2008. For the next several years Brad and Scott used their combined musical genius to compose and write a library of original work. in 2015, they discovered dynamic drummer, Mike Barry (songwriter/drums/vocals) who exceeded their expectations and created the Trifecta known as “High Friday”

This brotherhood combined their years of experience and shared passion for classic rock, hard progressive rock and metal. Over the next three years they honed and perfected their authentic sound in “The Lounge”, High Friday’s private studio. Overcoming several obstacles, recording endless tracks and adding the delicious talent of female vocalist Kathryn Sovereign this group’s perseverance, hard work and devotion resulted in the release of their debut album “Rising Up” in February 2019.

While anticipating their CD release, High Friday took their inspired and invigorating show on the road throughout the NW in 2018. Pat Smith, professional musician, former mayor of Mukilteo WA and the Project Manager for the NW Music Project was immediately blown away and taken with High Friday’s music and style. Pat offered his services free of charge to help promote their music. Numerous fans have shared that they get goosebumps and sometimes tears in their eyes that they were so moved by the instrumental and vocal delivery of their songs.

High Friday wants to expand their exposure this next year by taking their show on the road to bigger venues in the Northwest, across state borders, and into Canada. The thrill of playing live music and giving their fans an entertaining night to remember complete with lights, lasers, and a few other surprises is what motivates them.

“Our music comes from a real place in our hearts, our minds and from real life experiences” says Brad. “It’s a raw emotional and heartfelt journey to listen to High Friday as even when the words stop the instruments keep telling the story” Mike continued…”it’s what made me want to give 100% to this endeavor.” Even without fame and fortune this music has a message and our dearest fans have expressed to us what a true gift it is to them for us to take them on one epic journey after another, song after song. “Sharing our music with the world is our driving force.” says Scott.
