MORIAH High Road Rising

We are so excited to release our first High Road Rising record. This has been an amazing and inspiring experience over the past 9 months working on this album with a stellar lineup of talented folks who we were blessed to collaborate with. These 7 new recordings represent a year of working together from our rural based Stillwater NJ rehearsals, to performances, to the studio and years of songwriting.

ABOUT THE RECORD

The CD reflects the musicality and versatility of the core band, Deb D’Anne, Timmy Coyle and Jim Ezzi.

The album was produced by Timothy Carbone, one of the most versatile and gifted musical talents today and the well known fiddle player for the popular band Railroad Earth. Timothy’s vision and support transported the entire project into a realm that reflected all the components that went into the music and took us to the level we had dreamed of. It was awe inspiring to work with Tim as he painted a musical masterpiece with our songs. The album was recorded and engineered under the guidance of Don Sternecker of Mixolydian Studios in Delaware Water Gap, Pa. Don’s impressive credits in the recording world include greats such as Mick Jagger, Peter Gabriel, From Good Homes, Railroad Earth, plus many labels and sound engineers such as Andy Wallace who have all graced the studio. Working with Don was a privilege and although we worked hard and used our time efficiently, we had a lot of laughs and great times too.

The guest musicians on this recording are just plainly said, legendary. Andy Goessling, famed Railroad Earth’s multi- instrumentalist that plays nearly everything flawlessly from strings to winds, lent his virtuoso and artistic interpretations ( and lent an occasional vintage guitar for Deb to record with!) . John Skehan also of Railroad Earth shared his brilliant keyboard skills on the organ. Jazz bassist Tony Marino on the acoustic bass rounded off the low end with class. Jay Rattman, multi-instrumentalist improvisor and composer, composed the beautiful string quartet addition to April Snow that was performed and recorded live in Mixolydian. Jay’s credits include The Tonight Show, The Late Show, Feist and endless awards and musical accolades. The beautiful and talented singer Erin Lockett, joined us on vocals.

Another legend, Gene Paul, son of the guitar great Les Paul mastered the CD at G&J Audio in Union City, NJ along with Joel Kerr. Gene’s credits include jaw dropping names such as Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, John Prine, Nora Jones, Roberta Flack.

We are eternally grateful to all and especially to the executive producer from Paul Palazzi from Hobo Records who believes in us and our music and makes it possible for us to make this project a reality. We are truly on a High Road Rising.
