New Orleans reggae band Higher Heights will return to central Arkansas for a show at 9:30 p.m today at Juanita's, 13th and Main streets.

Higher Heights is the most versatile reggae band around. Coming out of the harsh concrete jungle of New Orleans, LA; Higher Heights is the living symbol of reggae inna Babylon. Reggae is a passion for Higher Heights, and you can feel it when they play. For years the members have played Studio One hits and other reggae classics known throughout the world. With the skill and passion Higher Heights possess, they have come to heighten the scales of reggae music in the universe.

Already five years into existence, Higher Heights has made some striking accomplishments. They have toured the United States making stops in Las Vegas, Sedona, Pheonix, Chicago, Austin, and several other cities and towns. Audiences from all over have enjoyed the sounds of Higher Heights. Many have described the show as energetic, uplifting, and motivating. Higher Heights has performed in legendary clubs like Wild Hare, Tipatinas, House of Blues (New Orleans), and Hard Rock Café (New Orleans).

Higher Heights has a strong stage presence, and they have proven to be just as dominating as any rock, pop, or rhythm & blues band. Higher Heights has been called upon to share the stage with some of the hottest names in reggae music. They include: Buju Banton, Damian ‘Jr. Gong’ Marley, Yellowman, Third World, and Wayne Wonder. Higher Heights is also the perfect festival band. Since the very beginning they have played various festivals throughout the country. They include: One Love festival 2002, Lafayette Reggae Festival 2003, Reggae Riddims, New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival 2003, and the Bob Marley festival tour. The Bob Marley festival tour has headlined Higher Heights, and has hired them as backing band for international acts from Jamaica.

Since the turn of the millennium Higher Heights has been fulfilling their passion all over the place. When asked to describe themselves, Higher Heights says they are a mountain. They will continuously climb reggae music to higher heights, and will not be removed from its firm foundation.
