"Show Review (Middle East 8/7/09)"

By: Nick Grieco

"The first band I got to see was Highfire Skyline, hailing from Manchester New Hampshire. The first 10 seconds of the set gave me an immediate impression that this was just another All Time Low imitator, but in this case, first impressions are not everything. This band quickly proved my assumptions wrong as they launched into an energy packed set. This driving pop punk 6-piece had great originality, while maintaining a familiar catchy sound that had the entire audience bobbing their head and shaking their hips. Towards the end of their set the lead singer pulled out an acoustic guitar and performed a song on his own, really showing off his impressive voice and songwriting ability.

Every song was gripping, and it was all held together great by their blindingly fast drummer, who amazed me song after song. I believe they’re still on tour, so if they’re playing near you, and you’re into This Providence, The Audition, or The Receiving end of Sirens, check this epic pop punk sextet out, they’re a good time for sure. "The Noise/Boston Review - Joel Simches"

"Hailing from a land where hardcore and nu-metal seem to prevail, Highfire Skyline seems like an anomalous gem in a pool of watered down, tired licks. Highfire Skyline is an onslaught of high energy rock, with angular pop hooks and a soaring vocal floating high above the chaos, oblivious to the bar line, yet tightly woven into the fabric of the music. The harmonies are lush and unconventional and the band sounds like a blazing firestorm of guitar texture and wizardry. If you only listen to one CD all year, you really need to get out more. This band is truly amazing. Check it!" - The Noise

"Myxer.com Review"

"Storming out of New England and ready to take the music world by the proverbial reins, Highfire Skyline is powerful, yet not overpowering—no easy feat to accomplish! Chugging along with ill riffs and emotionally-charged lyrics, they manage to strategically ride the thin musical line between bands like Hot Water Music and Thursday. Flourishes of punk and hardcore shine through yet make way for a much more melodic sound, rife with clever hooks and stellar harmonies! Check out “My Low Plateau,” and see why this band is about to explode on the scene!"
