Biography

HighFlightSociety is a rock band in the truest sense of the term. With powerful vocals, driving, intricately written guitar parts, and dynamic rhythm changes, HFS delivers songs about faith, hope, and everyday life with passion and honesty.
The band was recently awarded a development deal by Provident Music Group, the parent company of labels like Essential and Fervent. The deal came after HFS beat out over 6,000 other bands in the nation-wide Christian Music Talent Search (CMTS). While the HighFlightSociety sound falls somewhere between bands like the Ataris and Thrice, HFS has a distinct sound all their own – one that is setting them apart in the overcrowded Atlanta music scene. In January 2002, HighFlightSociety played their first show - the beginning of a journey that has only gained momentum since then.
A few months after forming, ex Audio Adrenaline guitarist Barry Blair sought HFS out to record a three-song demo. Even more recently, the band recorded with producer and ex DC Talk bass player and Sonic Flood co-founder Otto Price. The opportunity arose after winning the second round of CMTS at Atlantafest 2003, the biggest Christian music festival in the southeast.
Since releasing two independent EP’s, self producing a music video and playing countless shows with bands such as the Elms, Seven Places and Holland, HighFlightSociety has gained a loyal, constantly growing fan base thanks to their energetic, ever-evolving live show. What keeps the fans coming back, however, are the songs.
Unlike the tired, predictable songs of many of today’s bands, HFS songs contain stand-out melodies that stick in your head and messages that stay in your heart, HighFlightSociety’s powerful rock sound will take them anywhere God leads. The sky is the limit.

Lyrics

With You With Me

Written By: Michael Packer

I know its what I need to get me on my feet
And guide me where I need to go
It takes me higher than I know I’ve ever been
And ever could be on my own
I’m not alone
With you with me our faith will stay
And one thing that I know
It will never go away
Without it what am I, and would I even try
To be what I know I should be
It takes me higher than I know I’ve ever been
It gives me reason to believe
Its what I need
Sometimes faith seems like it never
Can come back its gone forever
Sometimes faith seems like it never
Can come back but I know better

The Moment

Written By: Michael Packer

The Moment

A lifetime fades away, burns out from day to day

The memories we make go on
Wake up and hear the sound, just take one look around

We’re blessed to be right here and now

Here and now

Live every moment, live in the moment

No I don’t wanna, No I don’t wanna miss out

Sleepwalk through the day, it always seems so late

We seem to want escape, go on

Wake up and just live life, its wrong to waste our time

There’s something more that we should find

We should find

My heart’s beating, days retreating

I’m not believing what I’m seeing

Whats Wrong

Written By: Michael Packer

What's wrong with us feeling like we do?
What's wrong with what we know to be true?

You say our ideas are wrong, but we've been taking this too long
I can not accept it, I will not accept that
You say we're the ones to blame, that we should hang our heads in
shame
I'm taking this to heart, I won't back down

You speak too loud

Take a vow of honesty, are you the one we should believe?
You know in your heart what's right, you're putting up a useless fight
If you're words aren't spoke truthfully, what makes you think we would
believe
You're words aren't what we all need, that's why they mean nothing to
me at all

They mean nothing
